IIT Jammu is a good in terms of academics, placements, and extracurricular. The faculties are well-qualified ad experienced. As it is a new IIT, the crowd is less. You can freely join any club and society of your choice. IIT Jammu has Coding Club, Robotics Club, Dance Club, Arts Club, etc.

The institute has a good placement record. According to IIT Jammu placements 2022 highlights, students received an average CTC of INR 21.5 LPA, while the highest CTC offered was INR 45 LPA.

IIT Jammu is best among the third generation IITs. The placement has been impressive for the recent year pass-outs.

IIT Jammu Placements:

Average CTC - INR 12.2 LPA
Average CTC (CSE) - INR 17 LPA
Highest CTC - INR 40 LPA
Major recruiters - The Captury, Arista Networks, Amazon

The institute has a great pool of well-qualified faculties with years of experience in teaching. The hostels were established recently so you will get decent facilities. Since the crowd on campus is less, you can join any club that you like. The campus is beautiful, you will love your time there.

IIT Jodhpur

IIT Jammu is a well-respected institute, and maybe the best if compared to the newer IITs. My cousin was a student of the institute and as he recalls, his experience was great.

Academics:

In terms of academics, IIT Jammu has the best faculty at the beginning of the course as well, where top professors from IIT Delhi are seen to deliver their proficiency in regard to the institution’s elevation.
It also includes HODs’ of several departments, where few of them were either permanently stationed or made a trip on weekends.

Clubs:

There also are numerous clubs established within the perimeters, namely the Coding Club, Dance Club, Robotics Club, Photography Club, Drama Club, Arts Club, and several others where students actively contribute their energy.

The Coding Club sessions are seen to set up learning about new concepts on a regular basis. Besides, there is a tinkering lab where students are welcome to be more ingenious with a greater number of types of equipment.

Extra-curricular:

Alongside academics, IIT Jammu holds regular sports meets, where students are expected to contribute their skills to represent the college. There also are frequent cultural functions conducted at times.

Facilities:

2017 saw the biggest advantage of all time, where IIT Jammu was the first among all newer IITs to shift to a permanent campus, which was supposed to advance the progress of the institute.
IIT Jammu is considered to be the finest 3rd generation IIT of all, whether you talk about facilities or teaching curricula, or even placements. It also has good hostel facilities as well.

Besides having their own appointed director now, they also have a permanent faculty finally being recruited that teaches students along with the IIT Delhi faculty members. Comparing both places on grounds of every section, it would not be wrong to say that it is not very far away from IIT Delhi in terms of facilities.

On basis of academics and regional preference, IIT Jammu is elevating in terms of being the best among all the newer IITs. Many students do not come to IIT Jammu for fear of terrorism. But the situation at Jammu is not like Khasmir, it is a great place with decent people.
