Should I join IIEST Shibpur or NIT Allahabad?
If you're considering NIT Allahabad and IIEST Shibpur for CS, ETC, or IT branches, it's worth noting that NIT Allahabad has better placement records than IIEST Shibpur. However, for Mechanical, Electrical, or other branches, the placements are almost the same in both places, and IIEST is growing and improving.

Lower NITs such as Jamshedpur, Hamirpur, Agartala, Silchar, and Sikkim would come next, with NIT Uttarakhand, Goa, Mizoram, etc., bringing up the rear.

- There is a bundle of top recruiting firms in the list of companies that have visited NIT Allahabad for placement. These include D.E. Shaw, Directi, Flipkart, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan Chase, Microsoft, Morgan Stanley, Paytm, Practo, SAP Labs, Samsung, Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, Walmart, VISA, Adobe, and many more.
- Most of these companies did not visit the campus. Although Directi recruits from IIEST, there are sessions in which the company returned without offering even one student.
- Microsoft offers roles in the Services Global Delivery, and not in the direct development team, which is less valuable compared to the roles offered in NIT Allahabad. Even the pay scale of Microsoft in IIEST is less in the GSD arm.
- Most of the students in IIEST are placed in mass recruitment companies, thus receiving average salary packages.
