Both IIT Kharagpur CSE and IIT Delhi Electrical Engineering courses are well recognized in India.

IIT Kharagpur is an ideal option for B.Tech Computer Science & Engineering as its CSE department is regarded as one of the best in India. This means that you’ll receive quality education from talented faculty members. Apart from that, you’ll receive excellent research opportunities.

The CSE department at our college is known for offering the best curriculum which includes different topics like Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Algorithms, and more.

The placement of CSE branch at IIT Kharagpur is very good with almost all the students getting placed at good packages. The highest package offered is around INR 2 CPA , and the average package offered to the students is around INR 26 LPA to INR 28 LPA. The percentage of placement for CSE branch at IIT Kharagpur is around 95% to 100%.

If you wish to study B.Tech CSE, IIT Kharagpur is a great choice, in terms of both academics and placements.

The choice of both the college as well as branches depends on your personal inclinations and career prospects. In case you aren’t sure of any branch yet, my answer will surely help you.

  • Anyone interested in huge packages and excellent job opportunities should go for the CS branch. It offers the highest packages and will never disappoint you.
  • Anyone interested in pursuing higher education from foreign universities should opt for Computer Science.
  • For those willing to work in public sector companies like Indian Oil, ONGC, etc go for Electrical.
  • Even if you are aiming for IAS/IES, Electrical will be the right choice.

The primary step is to analyze what you want from your graduation and then make the decision.

There is no clear winner in this comparison. Both the options have merits. Among the branches, CSE will offer better placement. If you want jobs with cushy salary packages after graduation, you should choose CSE. Electrical Engineering is a good option as well. It is a mixture of Electronics, Instrumentation, and Control. If you are interested in core engineering job roles, then you should prefer Electrical Engineering.

IIT Delhi and IIT KGP both are excellent in terms of academics. IIT Delhi has a locational advantage. Situated in close proximity to industries in Delhi NCR, it’s easier to get internships and placement opportunities. During phase 1 of IIT Delhi placements 2022, more than 200 companies visited the campus. The highest CTC received by the students was INR 1 Crore per annum.

It would have been easy to answer your question if you had specified your preference.

IIT Delhi Electrical:

  • Being situated in a metro city, it will offer better recreational opportunities. The city has big shopping malls, famous food joints like McDonald’s.
  • As for Electrical, choose this branch if you want to pursue core-engineering. If circuital branches interest you this is the branch for you. Electrical course work at IIT Delhi is a mixture of Electronics, Instrumentation, and Control so this will be a really good option.

IIT Kharagpur Computer Science and Engineering:

  • If applying logic brings you more joy than solving complex differential equations, and you want to know how google search works rather than how a transistor functions, CSE at IIT KGP is the right choice for you.
  • You will also get better salary packages from CSE at IIT Kharagpur.
  • DC++ at IIT KGP offers unlimited downloads. There are also many extra-curricular activities that you can take part in.

So, sort out your priority and choose which interests you more.
