It is best to make a decision based on your own individual preferences and interests.

I also had the same dilemma and I chose Aerospace at IIT Madras over other departments due to following reasons:-

  • The curriculum is designed to provide a foundation course followed by a "core" aerospace course in each of these areas.
  • The course features two distinct design classes. One covered the principles of engineering design, while the other focused on aircraft design.
  • The faculty in the department is great.
  • IIT Bhubaneswar has a NIRF ranking 47th with IIT Madras at 1st.
  • The Average salary for IIT Bhubaneswar CSE Program is 25.15 LPA.
  • The Average package for IIT Madras Aerospace Engineering is 21 LPA.
  • JP Morgan Chase, Procter & Gamble, Morgan Stanley, and Texas Instruments are among the top firms that visit IIT Madras each year.

Take IIT Madras Aerospace Engineering, only if you are genuinely interested in the branch. The opportunities available in this domain are next to nothing.

If you don’t have an inclination toward any specific branch, then you should choose CSE at IIT Bhubaneswar. As per the current industry trends, coding jobs are in abundance and these jobs pay more than other jobs in general.

If you have a keen interest in aerospace, aerodynamics, and a crazy passion for aircraft and rocket science then you can take Aerospace engineering at IIT Madras without any hesitation. Otherwise, it is not advisable to opt for aerospace over Computer Science of IIT Bhubaneswar or any other NITs, IITs of India. As per the asked question, it can be concluded that you don’t have some specific amount of interest in the subject. You can go with CS if you are not into any one particular subject.

Nowadays the current situation in India is that students are opting more for coding jobs because of better packages than any other undergraduate course. An average undergraduate student in computer science can earn much better or the same as experience person of core or Non-tech jobs. Due to these reasons, there is high demands for coding jobs and CS branch in India.
