How did you feel when you got into IIM Ahmedabad?
A few years back, one of my friends applied to both IIMA and IIMB. He got an email from IIM Bangalore with the subject ‘IIMB PGP 2017 Offer of Admission’, one day while he was working. He didn’t expect an admission offer since his interview hasn’t been that good. He didn't check his IIMA result as he always felt, it was out of his reach.
Some of his friends suggested that he should at least check the IIMA website once, anyways. When he logged in his credential to the IIMA website he was speechless to find that he had gotten in. When the realization settled in, he was torn between IIMA and IIMB. But eventually, he choose IIM A.

My brother was interested in joining IIM Ahmedabad. It was 2006 summer, and he had just graduated and thought to appear for the CAT exam for the first time. However, he was from an engineering background, and his academic record was not that good. He gave CAT, and his score was quite decent, but he did not get a single call from IIMA.
One year later, he again appeared for CAT and shortlisted for IIMK, but he was not interested to join the institute. For this reason, he intentionally screwed up his interview, but he still got his name on the waitlist. His dream was IIMA, but he failed every time. Then, he got busy with several things, and completely forgot about his dream, which was IIMA.
Many years later, he again thought of doing an MBA and learned about PGXP.
He appeared for GMAT and applied to ISB and IIM B in 2017. He experienced some issues with the application for IIM A but eventually was able to apply. Then one morning he got the call from IIMA for the interview. As several years had gone by, he was more confident as he knew that he could accomplish anything that he wanted. This time around he got selected for admission.
He quit his job and came back to the country to pursue his dreams. Being selected for IIM Ahmedabad was nothing short of life-changing for him.
