What is the syllabus for finance and marketing at IIM Ahmedabad?

There is no definite syllabus for Finance at IIM. Some important aspects of the PGP syllabus at IIM Ahmedabad are discussed below. 

First Year:

The 1st year or PGP1 are full of compulsory courses.

• In this set, there are several finance-related courses that begin with the basic courses that teach you how to read and develop financial statements and how to interpret the statistics from them: balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement. These flow into more specialized courses in Corporate Finance. 
• Then there are a variety of other courses that teach you the Capital Asset Pricing Model (CAPM) and the valuation of money in time. The Macroeconomics and Microeconomics courses are related to these.

All of these are mandatory in the first year for students.

Second Year:

• In the 2nd year, or PGP2, nothing is compulsory and you can choose to study whatever areas and disciplines you want. There are various interesting and advanced finance courses here, and you can pick your field of choice. 
• Capital markets, pricing, trading, resources, insurance, advanced statistics, investment banking, portfolio management, and many other courses are available.
