Not at all. IIFT Delhi is not equal to FMS. Despite sharing a geographical location, both institutes have established very different standards and are leaders in their respective fields.

FMS is known for its ROI because the total course fee is only INR 1.92 lakhs and the average placement is INR 26.20 lakhs per year. You won't have to worry about EMIs and will have more financial freedom after completing your MBA.

On the contrary, if you want to specialize in international business, IIFT is the place to be. FMS will give you a general management degree, and your electives will determine what you specialize in, whereas the entire IIFT program is geared toward International Business.  FMS lacks infrastructure, which is shared by all DU colleges. IIFT, on the other hand, has a superior infrastructure.

During the IIFT Delhi MBA IB placements 2022, the average package offered was INR 25.16 LPA. Previously, the average packages offered during the 2020 and 2021 IIFT Delhi MBA IB placements were INR 20.48 LPA and INR 21.08 LPA, respectively. As previously stated, FMS, Delhi has an average package of INR 26.20 LPA.

Finally, it comes down to your personal preferences and the institute(s) to which you were admitted. If given the opportunity, there is no reason not to attend either of these two institutions.

There are many differences between IIFT Delhi and FMS. The differences can be observed as per certain factors, discussed below.

Infrastructure- IIFT Delhi has a campus of its own, worth two acres. FMS is located inside the Delhi University campus. The DU has allotted a building for the FMS department. There is no proper allocation of hostels to FMS students, some of them even face the issue of not getting a room. FMS is included in the DU curriculum, but not having its own campus is a big hurdle in the learning and development process.

Placements- In this area, FMS has more credibility than IIFT. IIFT has gained contacts over the past few years, it is still a work in progress when it comes to networking. FMS in that matter has a collaboration with ABCLIK and XLRI during placements. Nevertheless, a student should acknowledge that placement depends on the CV of the student along with the hard-work of the placement committee, not on the brand of the institute.

Salary package (2020)

IIFT

FMS

Average CTC

20.48 LPA

25.6 LPA

Highest CTC

46.45 LPA

58.6 LPA

Faculty- Both of these institutes have impressive faculty, with great qualifications.

Peers- IIFT has refined and selected students owing to the lengthy and detailed scrutinizing procedure. IIFT conducts its own entrance test which includes a written test, GD rounds, followed by PI. A candidate has to clear all these three rounds to get selected. Whereas, FMS admits students based on their CAT scores. Therefore, the students in FMS get admitted in bulk and there is a slight probability of them being better.

College Experience: The experience gained in both the institutes are quite similar, there isn’t much difference.

Fees- The total fee for two years in FMS is Rs1.92 lakhs, in the year 2020. In the case of IIFT, it is Rs7.6 lakhs for the first year only, for the batch of 2020.

Brand- In this debate, FMS wins the vote. The foundation stone for FMS has been laid way before IIFT, for more than five decades now. FMS’s reputation and network are supremely impressive in the corporate world. IIFT is young in comparison to FMS. Both FMS and IIFT have a reputation in the industry. You won’t regret getting admitted to either of the institutes.

To answer the above question both of these institutes share certain similarities but in the core, they are different from each other on various grounds.
