It depends on whether you will be pursuing an undergraduate course or postgraduate degree. If you are aiming to pursue an undergraduate degree, then you will be asked questions based on your knowledge of classes 11th and 12th. For postgraduate students, you will be asked questions from your graduation course. Be thorough with the basics as the interviewers want to test your knowledge of the subject. The questions are not very tricky and if you have an understanding of the subject, then you will be able to answer the question easily. Also, you will be tested on your communication skills and how well you can convey the answers to the interviewer. Do not lose your confidence, if you are not able to answer a few questions then let the interviewer know and they will ask you different questions. Do not be nervous as the interviewers are very friendly.

Christ University holds a personal interview round for most of the courses. Students can request an online interview in some unavoidable situations.

The university does not assess the academic knowledge of students in depth but the main motto of Christ University interview is showcasing a positive attitude. The candidate must have good communication skills. Here are some of the tips for the Christ University Interview:

  • Dress in Formals.
  • Be aware of current happenings.
  • Have basic knowledge about the course you applied for.
  • If you don’t know an answer, simply say I am not aware of it instead of giving a diplomatic answer which will lead to follow-up questions.
  • Carry all the documents and resume with you.

Some of the questions that might be asked during the interview are as follows:

  • Introduce yourself.
  • Why did you choose Christ University for this course?
  • What are your expectations from Christ University?
  • Tell us about your achievements in brief or any internships you were involved in.
  • What was your favourite subject in school and why?
  • How will you manage academics and extracurricular activities?

The first thing to keep in mind is that the interviewer will not always be joyful, more often than not they keep a straight face throughout the interview. There would be one male and one female interviewer in most cases. Out of the two, one will keep asking you questions while the other judges your body language, confidence and sometimes can also ask some questions. The key point in this is confidence. You should not be affected by how they look at you or the questions they ask you.

They will try to compare other institutions and try to throw you off your game by asking whether you received calls from other colleges, but you need to stay firm in your stance and only say why Christ is your first choice. You can answer by saying, “I have read about Christ and it is a NAAC-A graded college which has top of the line facilities for my development which will make me future-ready and lead me to my goal and I will be disappointed if I don’t get in.”  This straightforward answer will help in setting your target straight and will give them clarity about your intentions.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Start reading newspapers every day after your 12th exams are over or at least read newspapers of up to 10 days before your interview to help yourself with the GK and current affairs questions. Here are some frequently asked questions in the interview that might help you –

  • Tell me about yourself.
  • Why did you choose Christ University?
  • Where do you see yourself in the next 5/10 years?
  • What is/was your favorite subject? (they may ask a couple of questions from that subject)
  • If you scored low in a particular subject in 12th, they may ask you for reasons for low marks in that subject.

The interviewer may also ask some GK questions such as –

  • Who is the President and the Vice-President of India?
  • Who is the governor of RBI?
  • You should be well aware of Demonetization, GST, Indian GDP, etc.

Micro-presentation:

  • For Micro-presentation you will get a topic from around 50. You will be given 30 seconds to gather your thoughts and have to speak on the topic for 1 min.
  • Google ‘Micro-presentation topic at Christ University’ and go through them to get an idea.

Make sure to tell them about your co-curricular activities from school and how they helped in shaping your personality.
