Below is the average package information of IIMs, XLRI, FMS, and ISB Hyderabad.

Institute  2022 Median CTC (in INR)
IIM Ahmedabad 26.5 LPA
IIM Bangalore  28.98 LPA
IIM Calcutta 31 LPA
XLRI  29 LPA
FMS 30 LPA
ISB Hyderabad 27 LPA (2021)

The average placement scenario for these institutes varies each year. As there are multiple factors at play, like specialization, recruiting companies, student crowd, etc.

When you are talking about the normal person, you must be clear about who this normal person is. Is it a person who is in the middle when people are arranged as per the salary package they receive? If yes, then you are looking for the median salary value.

  • The median value of packages for old IIMs, XLRI, and FMS ranges somewhere between 18-25 lakhs per annum while for new IIMs and other B-schools, the median value ranges between 10-16 lakhs per annum. The packages differ year after year. Also, there are many factors that come into consideration while deciding the average package received by a normal person in any of the institutes be it IIMs or other b-schools.
  • The average package in a particular specialization may be higher in a specific institute. For eg: XLRI gets the highest median packages for HR specialization, but not for other specializations.

The table given below will help you understand the average package that a normal person receives at the IIMs, XLRI, FMS, and ISB.

College

Average Package (2019-2020)

Indian Institute of Management

18-25 LPA

Xavier School of Management

21-23 LPA

Faculty of Management Studies

21-25 LPA

Indian School of Business

18-24 LPA

Do not blindly rely on the placement reports as most of these reports are unaudited. Do thorough research before you apply for the management program.
