Thapar University is a better college than Lovely Professional University (LPU). Even though Lovely Professional University has better infrastructure and facilities, Thapar University is the better option for any branch of Engineering.

• Thapar offers a competitive environment in which students can thrive. Which you will not find in LPU. The rank required to take admission at Thapar is less than 2000 (JEE Main) or even higher for branches like CSE or Mechanical. The healthy competition among peers will keep you motivated to do well at Thapar.
• Students at LPU are smart but lack the competitive spirit. Very few LPU students actively participate in various events and competitions. Many students end up losing motivation during the 4 years of their course and start blaming the institute. 

Faculty: (Winning Institution - Thapar University)

The faculty at Thapar University is more experienced and knowledgeable as compared to the faculty at Lovely Professional University. LPU faculty in comparison to Thapar is young and lacks the experience of teaching.
