Is an IGNOU degree acceptable for IIM?

Absolutely yes, as all the degree courses of IGNOU are recognized by AICTE and UGC. After the completion of graduation in BBA or B.Com from IGNOU with good marks, any candidates can go for higher studies at IIM but at the same time, the candidates need a valid score of any national entrance examination for management programs.

There are some key factors that will help to find out how a graduate student from IGNOU is acceptable for IIM.

Eligibility:

• Any candidates who are applying for a postgraduate degree at IIM require a minimum of 50% marks in graduation and equivalent marks in 10+2.

• To get admission at IIM, the candidates must have a valid rank of national entrance examination for management such as CAT/XAT/GMAT scores.

• To get an interview call from IIM, the candidates must meet cut off marks of CAT and should be listed for the applied course.

Admission process:

• Every IIM conducts an entrance examination for different management programs that are written aptitude tests (WAT).

So, it is 100% possible that the students having an IGNOU degree are eligible to get admission into IIM. But there are certain conditions applicable such as only the students with good marks in graduation are eligible and they must possess a valid CAT/GMAT or another entrance score, in order to be accepted for admission into IIM.
