How is IIT Tirupati as compared to NIT Calicut?

NIT Calicut stands apart amongst all NITs and is ranked 23rd by NIRF while IIT Tirupati is a new college and hasn’t been ranked yet by NIRF.

Campus

• IIT Tirupati- The permanent campus, proposed to be spread across 530 acres, is under construction as of now and students have to stay in a transit campus.
• NIT Calicut- Spread across 300 acres space, has state-of-the-art infrastructure. Well equipped labs with over 1.5 lac books and journals.

Placement

NIT Calicut

It has an average placement rate of 73.55%. Top recruiters are Goldman Sachs, Bosch, Nokia, HDFC, Honeywell, HSBC etc. Around 130 students got PPOs in their pre final year last year. Other notable features about the placement statistics are:

• Highest CTC offered was 50 LPA
• Average CTC offered was 12 LPA

IIT Tirupati

It is relatively new, hence much detailed placement data is not yet available. Major recruiters are Envestnet Yodlee, Bosch, TCS, Honeywell, etc.

IITs and NITs have a specific brand value when it comes to engineering and boast off their highly dignified and distinguished faculty contingency. More or less they follow the same curriculum as set by UGC. It is up to an individual how he/she analyzes the factors and chooses a given course in a particular college.
