What is the IIT Kanpur faculty recruitment process?

The faculty recruitment process at IIT Kanpur involves several stages like Initial review, seminar presentation, recommendation letters, DFAC review and followed by IFAC interview to ensure the selection of highly qualified candidates.

1. Initial Review:A group of faculty members of the concerned area of specialization gives its recommendation on the suitability of the candidates for a faculty position.
2. Seminar Presentation: The candidates recommended by the faculty group are called for seminar.
3. Recommendation Letters: Recommendation letters are sought from the referees of these candidates who are identified after the seminar.
4. Department Faculty Advisory Committee (DFAC) Review:The Department Faculty Advisory Committee (DFAC) shortlists the candidates on the basis of the application, faculty input, seminar and referee comments.
5. Institute Faculty Advisory Committee (IFAC) Interview: The shortlisted candidates are presented to the Institute Faculty Advisory Committee (IFAC) and are called for an interview.
