PES University (People’s Education Society University), Bangalore, is ranked 93 among top engineering colleges in NIRF 2019 Rankings.

Infrastructure:

  • The college is well advanced in terms of infrastructure. It has also the machines and equipment available like 100 ton UTM, Salt Spray Tester, Subsonic Wind Tunnel, Pin-on-disc, Hydraulic Press, Air Jet Erosion Machine, Vickers Microhardness Tester, Rapid Prototyping Machine, Scratch Test Machine, Grit Blasting Machine, Water Tunnel, High-Velocity Oxy-fuel Spraying Equipment, Slurry Test Machine and more.
  • There are several research programs, conferences, both national and international, various seminars, and induction programs. They have developed several research teams and are hardworking on their respective projects.

Faculty: They are well experienced and trained. They have been a part of a lot of government funded research programmes and projects.

Cut off: For admission in Mechanical Engineering at PES University, the cut-off for the general category went up to 7493 in KCET.

International Accreditations:

  • PES University attained the International IET-UK accreditation for its eight B.Tech and M. Tech programmes.
  • They have matched the International Quality Benchmark.

Placement:

At PES University, placement rate for Mechanical Engineering is somewhat around 40-50% and the rest opt for higher studies or research. The mechatronics branch recorded the highest ever placement rate of 95%. Other key highlights are:

  • The students received the highest package of INR 9 LPA
  • The lowest package was INR 2 LPA
  • The average package was 3.5 LPA.
  • The top recruiters of the college include Bosch, Infosys, Mahindra, Volvo, L&T, Wipro, and many others.

Mechanical is a core branch, hence if one studies diligently, he/she can excel in the field despite limited opportunities. Most of the universities follow a fixed curriculum hence it is difficult to distinguish. So it is up to an individual, how they select a given course in a particular college after much scrutiny.
