How is the BITS Pilani campus compared to the newly opened IITs?
When it comes to the top Engineering colleges in India, BITS Pilani is one of the top-ranking private institutions in India. Being a proud student of BITS Pilani, I can proudly confirm that the institution holds to its definition. Like every other college, our college also has a set of pros and cons but the pros surpass the cons. If you compare BIT Pilani with the newly formed IITS, the first distinction that will come into the picture is the vast legacy and reputation of BITS Pilani. Its vast alumni network and long-standing history make it one of the most prestigious institutions in the country as compared to the newer IITS. BITS Pilani has strong industry connections which makes it easier for the students to get placed at the top companies which the newer IITs lack. Moreover, the experienced and seasoned faculty of BITS Pilani gives it an edge over the newer IITs. However, the fees of BITS Pilani is quite high as compared to the newer IITs, so you should make your choice of the institution accordingly.

The ones you mentioned started around 2016-17, and are 3rd generation IITs. As a BITSIAN myself, I consider BITS Pilani a better option compared to the newly established IITs. But the choice depends on your preferences.
Getting into any of these colleges is an achievement as competition has increased manifold over the years. BITS Pilani charges much higher fees as compared to the IITs. Its fees have increased a lot, and educational loans have very high interest rates. You must also keep in mind inflation.
The IIT tag is a lot more valuable for a career in research. For competitive exams, MBA or a normal job, IITs, NITs and BITS Pilani are all equally good. A degree from a Tier 1 college will benefit your corporate career, but a good employer will give more value to your skill set.
The alumni network of BITS is exceptionally good. This will help your professional career later on. Everything at BITS Pilani is handled by the students, be it the hostels, the messes, the student council, or the campus rules. It is a great way for introverts to take initiative and be involved in college affairs.
BITS Pilani supports entrepreneurial ventures. Its alumni founded successful startups like Swiggy, Redbus, Zivame, Daily Ninja, Revv and Slicepay. It doesn’t have any attendance criteria, and no one will force you to attend classes. But this is a good thing as it encourages accountability and self reliance.
Ultimately the decision is yours, but I would personally recommend BITS Pilani if you can afford the high fees.
