What are some helpful tips for MANIT Bhopal (Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology)?

Here are some useful tips to help you survive four years at MANIT Bhopal, and make the most of your stay-

1. Set your priorities straight.
2. Be respectful to your seniors, juniors and batchmates. Even if someone is rude and unfriendly, behave with them in a respectful manner. 
3. Never disrespect your teachers. 
4. Adapt to the new environment, and do not expect a family-like treatment. Seek help from people around you, whenever needed.
5. Be serious about your studies, and maintain good scores. Skill enhancement is the main goal, but bookish knowledge is also important when sitting for job interviews or other exams.
6. Take care of your health. In order to enjoy your college life, you need to be in a healthy and fit condition.
7. Participate in college activities to improve your social and communication skills. Practice grammar, and converse in English with your friends if your communication skills are poor.
8. Prepare for your GRE/GMAT/CAT alongside your engineering studies. You can start during 2nd, 3rd or final year, as per your own comfort.
9. Make a small study group with your friends to exchange notes related to your B.Tech or entrance exams (if you’ll be preparing for any). Having a study group provides good support.
10.  Last but not the least, enjoy these four years. You’ll face a lot of challenges during this time, take them as a lesson and keep moving forward.

These are a few things I wanted to share with you. Follow these tips and your journey at MANIT will be very smooth.

Here are some important tips to survive MANIT Bhopal-

1. Upon first entering the college, do not call anyone ‘Bhaiya’ as it can prove quite harmful for you. Instead, try to reach your hostel as soon as possible.
2. Although the tradition of Intros and Fundas is slowly dying, it’ll be beneficial for you to know and follow them. 
3. Maintain a strong relation with your seniors and batchmates. They’ll help you in tough situations.
4. At first, you’ll like the mess food. But once it becomes repetitive and unbearable, opt for a monthly tiffin, or visit Mata Mandir, Sagar Gaire, Sharma Chinese, Nukkad, etc.
5. The Director is very serious about attendance criteria. So maintain at least 75% attendance.
6. Study everyday, and do not depend on last night preparations. Maintain at least 7.5+ CGPA throughout. 
7. Some companies only allow candidates who score 7.5 CGPA (and above) in all their semesters.
8. And most importantly, enjoy these 4 years to the fullest.
