Which is better, IIIT Dharwad or PES University, Bangalore?

As no course is specified in the question, it is difficult to choose which will be better between the two institutes. However, if a college has to be chosen between the two, one can look at the following factors.

PES Bangalore:

  • PES University was ranked as the 6th best private university out of 50 universities in India by outlook in 2019.

  • The college is recognized by UGC, AICTE, and AACSB. It is one of the top private universities in Bangalore.

Eligibility:

The eligibility criteria are different for all the courses. However, the minimum eligibility criteria in order to get admission in the college are to score at least 45 % in 10+2 exams and give the CET (common entrance test) of the college.

Faculty:

The teachers in the college are interactive. There are frequent seminars held so that the students can learn effectively. The faculty consists of members who have PhDs in their respective fields.

Placements:

  • The total number of companies that visited PES University in the year 2019 was 56 and the total number of job offers was 851.

  • The highest salary offered was Rs 48 LPA and the lowest salary offered was Rs 4 LPA.

  • The top recruiter of the university was Microsoft and the other recruiters include IBM, HP, Accenture, Infosys, HCL, ITC, Ashok Leyland, and BOSCH.

IIIT Dharwad:

The Indian Institute of Information Technology was ranked as the 30th best college in Karnataka by The Times Group in the year 2019. It is one of the emerging colleges in India.

Courses offered:

There are a total of two courses offered by the college which is B. Tech and Ph.D. In B. Tech there are two specializations that are computer science and engineering and electronics and communication engineering.

Eligibility:

The eligibility criteria are different for all the courses.

  • However, the minimum eligibility criteria for B. Tech is to score at least 45 % in 10+2 exams and give the CET (common entrance test) of the college.

  • Ph.D. students need a master’s degree in order to be eligible.

Infrastructure:

The institute is built in a temporary space currently in IT Park, Karnataka. However, the work for the permanent campus has been announced and the new college that is expected to be done is by 2020. Other than that, all the basic requirements that are needed by the college students are provided by the college.

Placements:

In 2020 the institute had decent placements.

  • The placement average was 94%.

  • The highest CTC offered was 11 LPA, whereas the average CTC offered was 7 LPA.

  • The top recruiters at the placement drive were TCS, Adobe, Bently, Microsoft, Wipro, etc.
