The order of preference of institutes is always subjective as it depends on a variety of factors. Some of these include

  • Fees: Great Lakes fees are higher than IITs and sometimes the difference is as high as 10 Lakhs.
  • Duration: The one-year courses are time-saving and less expensive than 2-year ones.
  • ROI: The ROI is a very crucial component. Great Lakes may have high fees but since you will be studying just for a year and then again start earning, you will be able to pay back the loan quite early. IITs have low fees so their ROI is also great.
  • Placements: The placement scenario of all the aforementioned institutes is similar. However, Great Lakes has more opportunities in the IT sector while IMT and IITs have more opportunities for Marketing.
  • Facilities: Great Lakes has better infrastructure, facilities, and campus life in comparison to the other institutes.

Based on your preferences and priorities you can come up with your own order for preference. For me it is

GL (1 yr) > IIT's > KJSOM
