What do I choose, IIT Tirupati for a B.Tech or IIT Bhubaneswar for an MTech in mechanical engineering?

IIT Tirupati is one of the newest IITs established in 2015. The very first year of BTech batch went through their campus placement in 2019. A total of 43 companies visited the on-campus drive with 75% of the students getting placed with an average package of 9.18 LPA. The estimated highest package offered in IIT Tirupati campus placement is around 22 LPA. Some of the top recruiters of the 2019 BTech placement are TCS, Bosch, L&T group, Fincare, etc. IIT Tirupati saw the highest placement for the CSE department with an average package of 12 LPA, followed by the ECE department with an average package of 8.7 LPA.

IIT Bhubaneswar witnessed a jump in placement in recent years. Mechanical engineering is the best department in IIT Bhubaneswar because it has the best faculty and staff from all over India. Mechanical Engineering has maintained its placement ratio of 84% in IIT Bhubaneswar compared with other departments. In 2019, 68% of the total MTech from IIT Bhubaneswar was placed in the core-sector with an average package of 10 LPA to 16 LPA. It may also be noted that 32 out of 35 students got secured positions in campus placements. Some of the top recruiters are Amazon, HP, Indian Oil, Adobe, etc.
