Choosing a university can be a difficult decision. Here is a comparison between LPU and Manipal University.

  • Rankings: According to Manipal University, the average CTC in 2022 was around INR 38 LPA with top recruiters like Goldman Sachs and Microsoft.
  • Infrastructure: Both universities have excellent facilities but the Manipal campus is less crowded offering better visibility.

Manipal University stands out for its rankings and campus environment, making it a better choice than LPU.

Manipal University is a better option than LPU. It is a reputed private college with an excellent placement record. Manipal University placements 2022 had an average CTC of around INR 38 LPA. Goldman Sachs, Microsoft, and Oracle were some of the major recruiters for the institute.  

Manipal University has an excellent campus with decent facilities. It also has a less number of students compared to LPU which gives equal exposure to everyone. The alumni base of Manipal University is better than LPU.

LPU and Manipal University are both top-ranked colleges in India. LPU offers more than 400 courses, with the tuition fee ranging between 50,000-4LPA and has approximately 30,000 students. Manipal also offers more than 400 courses, with tuition fees ranging between 1LPA – 4LPA and having approximately 28,000 students.

Admission:

Lovely Professional University:

  • Students are selected based on LPUNEST or JEE Main scores.

  • For MTech, GATE scores are accepted.

  • CAT/MAT/XAT/CMAT/GMAT exams are considered for admission to MBA programs.

  • For PG courses and Doctoral programs, 55% is needed at the graduate level.

  • 60% is needed in the 12th examination to be eligible for undergraduate courses.

Manipal University:

  • For most undergraduate and graduate programs, students are needed to sit for the university exam MUOET, and seats are provided based on MUOET scores.

  • For admission in BTech and BArch programs, students need a 50% in their 12th examination, and for MTech, MArch, and MBA students need a 50% in their bachelor’s degree.

Placements:

Lovely Professional University:

  • LPU promises a 100% placement rate.

  • More than 500 companies come for recruitment.

  • Some of the companies are Hewlett Packard, Amazon, Abbott, IBM, Cognizant Technology Solutions, VMware, TIVO, Thought works, Google, and Microsoft.

  • Till now, a total of 5000 offers have been made with the highest salary package of 30 LPA.

Manipal University:

  • It has an average placement rate of 80%.

  • More than 500 companies have come for placement till now.

  • The highest package is 21 LPA, the lowest is 4 LPA, and the average is 6 LPA.

  • Some of the companies that come for replacement are Accenture, Microsoft, Karvy Stock Broking, Western Digital, Cisco, and Dell.

Infrastructure:

LPU:

  • It has over one lakh books and over 10K papers, journals, and digital records. The college has all the necessary facilities, the labs are updated, and hostel facilities are top-notch.

  • LPU also has numerous sports facilities like cricket and football grounds, tennis, badminton, basketball courts, volleyball, hockey, snooker, and bowling complex.

Manipal University:

  • Manipal University also has all the necessary facilities needed by students, including smart classrooms, libraries, updated labs, and hostel facilities.

  • The sports complex of Manipal is massive and covers an area of one lakh sq-feet. The college also has an innovation center.

The colleges are at the same level, but the placements and curriculum are expected to differ by courses and programs. Students are advised to check the respective official websites to get a detailed analysis of the program they wish to pursue.
