How do I decide among IIT Madras and IIM Nagpur for an MBA?

If you ask me, I would suggest you choose IIT Madras to pursue an MBA as compared to IIM Nagpur for an MBA.

IIT Madras is a prestigious institute with a rich culture.
It has been consistently named as one of the top institutes in India for pursuing an MBA.
In 2023, it was ranked 17^th in the NIRF ranking.
The institute has well-designed curriculums that are focused on meeting the industry requirements.
The management department has praise-worthy placement records with the majority of students grabbing dream placement offers.
The highest placement as recorded this year is INR 21.89 LPA and INR 16.93 LPA is the average LPA.
The top recruiters visit this institute during the placement season. Some of them are Dell, Accenture, P&G, Standard Chartered, etc.

If you want my honest opinion here it is. I would choose neither of the colleges you mentioned. My opinion is based on the following reasons.

IIT Madras excels in the technological field but has no specialization in Management at all.
IIM Nagpur is a baby IIM and does not do justice to the IIM family name

But if you have no other options at all, then IIM Nagpur seems the better of the two. It is in the process of developing so maybe in some years it earns the credibility it owes to the IIM family and lives up to its name. Also some blind companies still prefer IIM students over other B Schools.
