IT from VIIT Pune is the better option. It is autonomous and offers good placement packages for IT. During the 2022 placement drive, the verge CTC offered to the students was INR 15 LPA. Some of the major recruiters for the IT branch are Amazon, Cisco, etc.

VIIT IT department has a dedicated group of faculties. The faculty members are well-experienced and most of them had done their PhDs.

VIIT College is an autonomous college in Pune. It has been ranked at 155 and 132 among the B.Tech colleges in India by NIRF and Outlook respectively. On the other hand, PCCOE is a reputed private college in Pune. NIRF and Outlook have ranked the college 197 and 54 respectively in the B. Tech branch.

Admission: Both VIIT and PCCOE accept JEE Mains and MHT CET scores for BTech admission.

  • In 2019 the cutoff for IT at VIIT was 130 (MHT CET). Whereas, the required cutoff for CSE at PCCOE was 143 (MHT CET) last year.

  • VIIT takes up 6.56 lacs for the whole 4 years and fees have to be paid on a yearly basis.

  • PCCOE charges 5.17 lacs which is less than the VIIT fee. But here fees have to be paid according to the CBCS rule

Faculty:

  • VIIT has a dedicated group of faculty members for the IT branch. Most of the faculties have their PhDs and are well-experienced.

  • On the other hand, PCCOE consists of 20 professors for CSE students. The professors are highly qualified and have years of experience in teaching.

Placements:

VIIT:

  • A good number of students from the IT branch get placed in reputed companies and the placement rate is between 79% to 85%.

  • In 2019 the highest, as well as the second-highest package of the whole VIIT, was given to an IT student and it was around 65 lacs per annum.

  • More than 150+ recruiters are being invited every year from the placement cell for this branch. Some of the job givers of this institute are Tata consultancy, Oracle, Wipro, IBM, Infosys, Tech Firm.

PCCOE:

  • The Placement rate in PCCOE is also high, ranging around 84% for the previous year.

  • On an average 213 companies visit the campus.

  • The highest package received by a CSE student was 35 lacs while the average package was on the verge of 4.5 lacs.

  • Some of the companies that visited the college were TCS, IBM, Cognizant, HP, L&T, Capgemini, Oracle, Quinnox, Wipro, and many more.

The infrastructure at both the institutes is quite good. Well developed laboratories and libraries are available in both the places for all the branches of engineering.

Here was a brief idea of both the colleges and their specified branch. Now it depends upon the student’s preference for selecting either of them.
