Regular medical tests are performed during admissions, ranging from routine blood and screening tests to organ-specific tests such as eye, ear, and mental illness.
In the event of any red flags such as severe mental illness, immunodeficiency, progressive vision loss, and other issues that could jeopardize your training or patients' safety/treatment, a medical board will be formed for you, comprised of senior faculty from various departments, and an external expert on that subject may be called upon if necessary. The board will decide whether or not you can enroll in the course. The calls for MBBS are not as restrictive as those for PG. For example, if you are discovered to have motor ticks or fine tremors, the board may not permit you to pursue surgical branches.
