Chandigarh University was ranked 84th and CGC Landran was ranked in the 201-250 rank band in the Engineering division, according to the NIRF Rankings of 2020. Both the courses are of CS, having a course duration of 4 years. Chandigarh University offers a BE degree whereas CGC Landran provides a B.Tech degree.

CGC Landran (CS):

CGC Landran provides B.Tech in CS which is an AICTE approved course for 4 years. This college was ranked 92nd in engineering by The Week 2019.

Admission:

  • JEE Mains results are accepted for admission at CGC Landran.

  • The total number of seats available for the CS stream is 300. The total fees for 4 years are around 3.48 lakh.

Placement:

  • Around 80% of the students from the CS department got placed.

  • Students are offered packages in the average range of 3-4 LPA. The highest package offered was 33.2 LPA.

  • Companies including Amazon, Google, cognizant, Zs, EY, Royal Enfield, You At Work, Genpact, WeWork, Clix Capital, Accenture, Nutanix, etc. visit the campus with high salary packages

Chandigarh University (CS):

Chandigarh University offers AICTE approved B.E. degree in CS for 4 years. It was ranked 28th by the recent survey of Times, 2020.

Admission:

  • The admission to this University is based on the score obtained by the candidate in the CU-Common Entrance Test.

  • The total number of seats available in the CS stream is 3000. Its total fees for 4 years is around 6.40 lakh

Placements:

  • More than 95% of the students of the CS department were placed in the companies that visited the campus.

  • Companies visiting the college for recruitment were Wipro, Microsoft, Google, Infosys, Amazon, etc

The CS course for CGC Landran is also offered in the 2nd shift with the intake of around 60 students. The classrooms for both the colleges are spacious but don’t have air conditioners. Moreover, the eligibility criteria vary for both colleges due to the different entrance examinations. As for which will be better for you, you should decide that.
