Which is better, IIT Ropar for civil or IIT Bhubaneswar for civil?

For Civil Engineering, IIT Ropar is comparably better than IIT Bhubaneswar. It offers better academics. The faculties of the Civil Engineering department have years of experience in teaching. Most of them are alumni of reputed universities around the world. IIT Ropar follows a curriculum of international standards, which is designed by the industry experts.

IIT Ropar placements reveal the average package for Civil Engineering to be INR 12 LPA.

IIT Ropar has a slight edge over IIT Bhubaneswar for Civil Engineering.

IIT Ropar has been ranked as the 3rd best IIT among the new IIT’s for the last two years. This is not only because of the infrastructure but the campus placement, the teaching facilities, and good career opportunities. The placement is also an important factor. In IIT Ropar the placement was approximately 91 percent in the year 2019 and the average salary package was around 14.56 LPA.

The student-faculty ratio is quite good in IIT Ropar as compared to the IIT Bhubaneswar. In IIT Bhubaneswar the student-faculty ratio is 1:12 in the Civil Engineering department but in IIT Ropar the student-faculty ratio is 1:9.

Despite being a new IIT, Civil Engineering in IIT Bhubaneswar is quite good too. The department has good teaching faculty and 8 laboratories well-equipped to carry out the academic and research works in any micro specialization in Civil Engineering. According to 2019 placement record there was 89% placement in Civil Engineering and the average CTC was around 11.44 LPA.
