IIM Nagpur

If you are considering applying to IIM Nagpur for the 2-year PGP program leading to an MBA degree, you should know that the mandatory exam for admission is CAT 2022. The institute has made some changes for the 2023-24 admission cycle, including an increase in the number of seats to 240 and a reduction in the cut-off percentile to 85 in the CAT exam.

For the flagship MBA 2023-25 batch, IIM Nagpur has a selection process that awards 15% weight to the CAT score and the remaining 85% weight to other factors such as academics, diversity, work experience, and performance in the personal interview (PI) round.

It is important to note that IIM Nagpur does not participate in the Common Admission Process (CAP), which is a common PI-WAT round for nine new and baby IIMs. Instead, IIM Nagpur has its own separate admission process.

The cutoffs mentioned in the website under the eligibility criteria are the minimum percentiles required to be eligible for admission at IIM Nagpur. It does not necessarily mean everyone with a cutoff more than 90 percentile will get admission.

Category CAT Cut Off (Overall) IIM Nagpur
General 85
EWS 85
NC-OBC 76.5
SC 60
ST 40
DAP (Differently Abled Persons) (Horizontal Reservation Across Categories) 55

It mainly is more about the Composite Score, that is calculated based on your overall academic profile and work experience (if any) than about the CAT percentile.
