For a law degree, NLSIU Bangalore is a better choice. IITs are the top institutions for an Engineering degree.

  1. IIT Kharagpur offers an L.L.B. (Hons.) in Intellectual Property Law. The total course fee is INR 3,55,100. The placement figure in 2021 states that the L.L.B. placement percentage for IIT Kharagpur is a mere 1%.
  2. NLSIU offers a B.A.L.L.B. (Hons.) and an L.L.B. (Hons.) program. The total course fee for L.L.B. (Hons.) program is INR 7.61 Lakhs, and it is INR 9,06,975 for B.A.L.L.B. (Hons.) program.

The 2023 placement highlights (overall) for NLSIU Bangalore are as follows-

Parameters

NLSIU Bangalore

Total Students Placed

56

Average CTC

INR 15 LPA

NLSIU Bangalore is a National Law University. It has more reputation for a degree in law than IIT Kharagpur, which is known for its Engineering programs.

Therefore, you should go for NLSIU for your L.L.B.

The competition to get into NLSIU is very high due to the merit-based system and they have equally impressive placements. IIT Kharagpur, on the other hand, has a very high number of graduates each year, but they do not get offers as high as NLSIU.

But you should be considering which of these colleges would add more value to you. Even if you choose to do an LLB from IIT Kharagpur, you should know that it is the first premier institute for engineering. Whereas NLSIU is one of the best universities in the country for law.

Do not choose a college just because it has better placement, instead focus on which college is better for your career in law. A degree from NLSIU would always hold a better position than a degree in Law from an IIT.

There are so many people that drop out of college just because they failed to research better about their career path and what was good for them.
