No, IIT Bhubaneswar doesn’t offer minor degrees in any branch along with the major degree. IITs in India typically offer three degree programs, i.e. B.Tech, M.Tech, and dual degrees. Few IITs also offer B.Arch and M.Arch programs as well.

But IIT Bhubaneswar allows students to take subjects within or outside of their disciplines to earn additional credits.

IIT Bhubaneswar does not offer any Minor degree. Instead, the students can opt for breadths and laterals offered by various schools at IIT Bhubaneshwar. From the starting of your fourth semester, you can opt for a lateral, and for breadth, you can opt for it from the third semester itself.

The courses from Breadths would widen your expertise by giving you exposure to non-technical domains (unrelated to engineering directly as you may say) whereas Laterals offer courses from domains related to technology or basic sciences which may or may not be from your department of study at IIT Bhubaneshwar.

You won’t get a degree or certificate specifying minors in some branch. There are laterals from different departments like Basic Sciences, School of Infrastructure, School of Electrical Sciences, School of Mechanical Sciences, School of Minerals, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, and School of Ocean, climate, and Earth sciences.

Various courses are offered in major by departments in non-technical fields like International Business, Speaking and Presentation, Environomics, Financial Management, Marketing Management, Psychology, Applied Econometrics, etc.

So, you can pick up any courses you’d like for additional credits or just for exploring, either from the same department or a bunch of different departments, hence the names, laterals, and breadths.
