Is LPU or Chennai Institute of Technology good for the CSE group?
Chennai Institute of Technology (CIT) is an industry-linked autonomous institute located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It was established in 2010 and offers a co-educational engineering program.
Lovely Professional University (LPU), on the other hand, is a large campus in India located in Punjab. It offers a wide range of programs including CPE.
- Placement: CIT average CTC is around 38 INR LPA with big recruiters like Goldman Sachs, Microsoft and Oracle. LPU also offers better investment packages than CIT.
- Campus and Facilities: CIT has an excellent campus with decent facilities. Because the LPU is larger, it provides a uniform view for everyone.
- Alumni base: Manipal University has a better alumni base than LPU.
Overall, Manipal University seems to have an advantage in terms of placements, campuses and alumni network.

Engineering at LPU Jalandhar has been ranked 87th among the Indian institutes by NIRF, while the Chennai Institute of Technology, Kundrathur is ranked 104th in India in the same category by Times Engineering Rankings. Both colleges are approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
- At LPU, admission is given through counseling based on marks obtained in Lovely Professional University National Entrance and Scholarship Test (LPUNEST)/JEE Mains. Candidates who have an aggregate of over 90% in 10+2 examination or 90%ile in JEE Mains need not appear for the entrance test.
- At the Chennai Institute of Technology, admission is through Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) counseling guidelines based on marks obtained in class 12th final examination.

Students develop competence in areas like Programming, Data Management System, Cloud Computing, etc. LPU has various industry tie-ups that help the students stay updated with the recent technological advancements.
Chennai Institute of Technology, Kundrathur offers a great infrastructure for CSE. Currently, there are 8 labs for the department. The department also has a group of highly qualified faculty members. Most of the faculties have their own PhDs.
