Which is preferable: BIT Mesra or NIT Durgapur?

BIT Mesra and NIT Durgapur both are esteemed technological institutes. Birla Institute of Technology is a government-aided institute, whereas the National Institute of Technology is a full government institute. Admission Process:

• BIT Mesra admits on the merit of NEET-UG/ JEE- Main for undergraduate students or XAT/MAT/CAT/CMAT/GATE scores for MBA and Engineering students. Along with this interview, qualification is needed, and in cases of postgraduate programs, GD is required.
• NIT Durgapur admissions require students to have 75% and above in 10+2 and 55%-60% and above in graduation. The qualifying entrance exam scores accepted by NIT are JEE/GATE/CAT/NIMCET.

Clubs:

NIT Durgapur and BIT Mesra have more than 20 versatile clubs with a focus on technical creativity, culture, society, and recreation.

• The LitSoc club at BIT Mesra is for literature enthusiasts; the IEEE or IETE clubs are electronic clubs. Students can choose to participate in 3-4 clubs.
• NIT DGP also has Debating clubs, Maths and Tech Club, and creative ones like the new Strokes Photography Club.

Placements:

• Both institutions are known to have 80%-100% placement records with recruiters like Amazon, Microsoft, Maq Software, Gate Academy, etc.
• In 2018-19, the highest domestic CTC offered at NIT Durgapur was INR 32.54 LPA and at BIT it was INR 40.63 LPA.

At BIT Mesra 50% of the seats are reserved for candidates from the location of the campus. Infrastructurally, it has a better campus spatially with 780 acres, residence availability, and shopping complex too.
