Here are some of the pros and cons of attending BITS Goa.

Pros -

  • BITS brand recognition
  • Excellent infrastructure. BITS Goa offers single rooms with DC++ and wifi.
  • The institute offers an enviable campus experience.
  • BITS Pilani Goa placements are good. During the 2021 placement drive, students received an average CTC of INR 9.05 LPA.
  • You will get to spend your college life in Goa. With beautiful beaches and many tourist attractions, it certainly lives up to the hype.

Cons -

BITS have a 0% attendance rule. It is a good rule and gives students the opportunity to explore their choices but it’s not without potential pitfalls. If you aren’t self-disciplined, you may end up getting bad grades.

Overall it is a good institute and you will enjoy your time there.

One of my cousins is from BITS Goa. According to him while discussing the pros and cons of life at BITS Goa, we can see that there are mostly pros. Some of them include: -

  • Same recognition of BITS Pilani branch in the final degree.
  • Beaches are all around so the weather is very pleasant at all times.
  • The main city and its market are just half an hour away and are very well connected.
  • The campus is beautiful and really well maintained.
  • The student intake capacity is low which increases competition.
  • Excellent rooms with top-quality services are provided.
  • It has the best football ground and one of the best cricket grounds in any institute which is maintained by the BCCI.
  • One of the best cultural festivals all over India, “WAVES” is held here.
  • Goa is a party destination and also for music festivals such as Timeout 72 and Sunburn

There are certain things that can be considered as cons. Like a zero percent attendance policy so a lot of students don’t attend the classes for a long time. The party culture present in Goa sometimes becomes overwhelming for the students. A lot of people will fall on the wrong track, but again it can be avoided personally.
