Should I prefer IIT Mandi for CSE over MNNIT for CSE?

It is suggested that you should be a little cautious and do not get carried away simply by the IIT tag. Some of my friends studied in both IIT Mandi and MNNIT, and according to them, MNNIT is much better than the former.

Here are some things they feel that makes MNNIT better -

• The seniors are very helpful and cooperative. They guide you well to survive in a competitive environment.
• CSE is a very highly in-demand subject.
• In CSE, you need the right books, proper guidance of the faculty members, and the availability of modern technologies.
• Do not depend on the college name or brand, be it NIT or IIT. Go beyond checking the usual things like faculty, hostel rooms, mess, infrastructure, etc.
• Reach out to the ex-students and see what they have to say about the college.
• Check the placements records, to see if they are consistent or not.

Ultimately it is your choice and how you want your career to be shaped. Check for the scopes for the department you choose. All I can say is that CSE as a chosen field will open up many opportunities.
