Life after graduating from IISc Bangalore depends on your branch. If you are interested in pursuing research, life can be good. Most students graduating from IISc choose research-oriented careers. Many join top universities such as Stanford, UCLA, UTA, ETH, and Harvard for higher education. Some also select academic careers as professors or teachers. Few IISc graduates also join corporate houses.

IISc Bangalore graduates usually choose academics or research-based careers. Many work in reputed research labs such as IBM Watson, Xerox Research Lab, INRIA, etc. Many students go for PhDs in top universities around the world. IISc Bangalore students pursued Ph.D. from universities like EPFL, UCLA, MIT, Stanford, etc. Some students also choose academic careers and join IITs or other research institutes as professors.

Most of the students graduating from the IISC Bangalore choose a research-oriented career. Some students pursue Ph.D. at reputed universities across the world. Most of the ME/MTech students usually get placed in core companies through campus placements. Many students also choose a career in education and work as academic faculties at reputed universities.

IISC Bangalore also offers decent placement. According to the placement statistics of the batch of 2019, as released by IISc about 25% of the batch got placements with packages between the range of INR 20 LPA to INR 30 LPA which was followed by a group of 24% students who received packages ranging from 15 LPA to 20 LPA. The highest package last year was 40 LPA and the average package was 10 LPA.
