Ashoka University is a private university founded in 2014. It is approved by the UGC and offers bachelors, masters and diploma degrees.

  • The Peer Group- The admission process of Ashoka University is quite through and along with good academics students need decent extra-curricular for admission which ensures a great crowd of students.
  • The Faculty - The faculty includes alumni from Harvard, Oxford, Stanford and many other prestigious universities. Students' feedback is given consideration. If the students do not prefer a teacher’s method of teaching the administration takes the required initiatives to change it.
  • The Campus, Environment and Infrastructure - The Infrastructure of the institute is very good. Their Hostels, Classrooms, Indoor sports complex and Library are well maintained.
  • The Model of Education - The teaching method is slightly different from other universities. Students are graded through essays, research papers, creative projects, Individual and Group Presentations, Class Quizzes, assignments and exams. More importance is given to the co-curricular activities which help in the personal growth of the students.
  • Internships offered - It is called the Ashoka Summer Internship Programme (ASIP). It provides undergraduates with the opportunity to join as an intern in corporations, research institutes, NGOs and local schools. It is six weeks long. The placements vary from office work to on-field works, Schools, labs and clinics.
  • Events Conducted - Many events are conducted throughout the year for the intellectual enrichment of the students. These events include:
  1. Startup Ashoka - It showcases aspiring entrepreneurs and their viable business plans.
  2. Hult Prize event - It is an annual year-long event where college students from different areas share their ideas like food security, water access, energy, social issues and education. It is a partnership between Hult Business School and the Clinton Global Initiative.
  3. Speaker Series - a seminar for entrepreneurship called the CFE speaker series and the Ignite Speaker series are held.
  • Other Facilities - There are different centres for Writing and Communication, Sexuality and Gender Studies, Entrepreneurship, Trivedi Centre for Political Data and many other centres to help students gain more knowledge and experience working with professionals. The institute offer suttle services, many clubs and society in which students can take part in.

The institute has a few cons too. As it is a new university (established in 2014), many people are not aware of it. The course fee quite high as it is a private institute for UG courses 1st-year course fee is around 8.85 lakhs and for PG courses it is 4.8 lakhs.
