What are the minimum marks for an MBBS to get admission in CMC Ludhiana?

Raktim Tarafdar Posted On : September 25th, 2023

CMC is a minority-based institution where the majority of seats are reserved. General Category Students in the Open quota, hardly are allotted 4 seats so the cutoff is very unpredictable and changes every year depending on the level of difficulty of the exam and other factors.

That said, it’s difficult to determine the minimum marks required to get admission to CMC Ludhiana without knowing your category and the year you will be attempting. The cutoff for the previous year for various categories are listed below:

General

351

OBC

572

SC

547

To give a rough estimate, in a fairly easy paper, you need 600+ and in a difficult one, you might need 560+ that is if you want a general category seat (Open quota) in CMC for MBBS.

Why should I choose CMC Ludhiana to get a MBBS?

RT
Raktim Tarafdar Posted On : September 25th, 2023

I have many friends in CMC Ludhiana and everyone started a number of reasons why one should prefer the college for an MBBS.

The most common answer was that the teachers and professors stay on campus and don’t practice privately. This translates to better attention to students and round-the-clock availability to students, residents, and patients. They focus entirely on teaching the students and working at CMC Ludhiana. Moreover, they aren’t money-driven and work for larger goals. It’s true that CMC Ludhiana has slowly lost its image but still many choose this college mainly because they are impressed by the dedication level of the faculty.

Some systems are still in place that have been handed down from the days of missionaries over generations and prove to be very beneficial in training good doctors.

Are supplementary exams tougher from regular exams in an MBBS. I am going to write the exams this month, and my college is affiliated from RGUHS Bangalore. How strict will the marking be?

SH
Swastika Handa, Posted On : November 2nd, 2021
MBBS from Dr Ulhas Patil (2020)

No, supplementary exams are not tougher than normal papers. Some out of the syllabus questions come in exams. But that is not something to worry about.

  • Prepare from the question papers of the previous 10 years.
  • Proper hard work and dedication are necessary to score good marks.
  • The markings depend on the teachers who check the paper.
  • Some teachers give good marks because they know that students are under pressure during exams but have worked hard enough.
  • But some teachers check the paper very strictly, ending up with average scores.
  • The marking is something that is out of your control. You can only prepare well for the exam so focus on only that.
  • Try writing good answers, neat diagrams, and stay on topic.
  • Simplify your language.

For exams, time management is also essential. Do not put all your time into finishing one question. During practice, solve the previous year’s question papers in the given time to get accustomed to the pattern. This will help you complete the exam without any difficulty.

Aryan Sharma, Posted On : November 25th, 2021
M.B.B.S. from Himalayan Institute Of Medical Science (2022)

The name is Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences (HIMS). Jolly Grant is the place where it is situated. It is adjacent to the airport.

  • It is the best private medical college in North India and it has maintained its reputation.
  • The campus is like a resort surrounded with greenery.
  • The Infrastructure is great and very well maintained.
  • Every speciality of medical science is well established here.
  • Being the largest hospital in Uttrakhand after AIIMS Rishikesh, it has a huge patient load.
  • The faculty is good and dedicated to their work and teaching.
  • There are lots of places around like Mussoorie and Rishikesh to visit during your free time.
  • People used to living in metro cities may find it less interesting. But it is a calming and quiet place, far from the hustle and bustle of city life.

If you want to learn and acquire good knowledge and experience, you should opt for HIMS. If you prefer a city life then opt for other institutions.

What are the advantages of opting Kasturba Medical College for an MBBS rather than choosing Malda Medical College and Hospital of West Bengal?

SG
Srishti Gupta Posted On : October 20th, 2021
Studied MBBS Kasturba Medical College in 2020

According to the reviews, I read online, the USA, Malaysia, Singapore, etc are some of the countries that acknowledge the dental, or the medical degree offered by Kasturba Medical College. If you plan to move out of the country then Kasturba Medical College can be a good option for you. You will be able to follow through on your plans with ease.

Malda Medical College is one of the worst colleges for pursuing medical. It was previously a district health care hospital and there were no plans of turning it into a medical college. It lacks proper medical equipment. The students of this college are people who do not have the money and did not achieve the rank required for studying in government medical colleges.

Which is the better MBBS college of Mumbai - TNMC, LTMC, Grant Medical College or RN Cooper?

AJ
Aman Jain, Posted On : November 25th, 2021
MBBS from Topiwala National Medical College and Nair Hospital (2025)

According to the reviews online, if academics are concerned LTMC is the best among all the others mentioned.

  • There is no doubt that academically LTMC is superior to the others.
  • They also have many cultural fests held over the years which are much more vibrant and provide immense exposure to the students.
  • In LTMMC the internships offered to the students are very demanding.
  • The hospital is crowded most of the time.
  • They have a huge patient load, which benefits some students but becomes tiring for others.
  • If you put all your focus and hard work in these internships, you will definitely miss out on studying.
  • Even so, it is preferred by most students as you will get to learn directly from the doctor handling the cases.
  • The internship builds you as an individual making you adapt in different situations.
  • The best thing about the internship is that you get to do a lot of BM biopsies, lumbar punctures, central line insertions , forceps-suction, cup deliveries, sebaceous cyst and lipoma excisions etc.

Most of the students feel that the internships here are better in terms of clinical practice. It gives you enough knowledge and hands-on experience.

Which is the better option for an MBBS, getting a payment seat at RUHS, Jaipur or a government seat at GMC, Kota?

SR
Sreemona Roy Posted On : November 11th, 2021
MBBS from RUHS CMS Jaipur

Govt. colleges are better than reputed private colleges because of the huge difference in fees. The payment seats at private colleges in Rajasthan will cost you around 40 lakhs. The fees in Govt. medical colleges, on the other hand, is around 40,000-50,000 only.

The quality of academics at Govt. colleges and private colleges are almost the same. Professor can’t teach you the whole syllabus. In your MBBS, you will have to do a lot of self-study. Out of 19 subjects, 4-5 are for self-study. So, it’s better to choose a Govt. college, where the fees are less. Sawai Man Singh Medical College, Dr. Sampurnanand Medical College, Sardar Patel Medical College, are among the many good Govt. colleges in Rajasthan.
