What should a first year student bring along with him at IIITM Gwalior?

SK
Sartaj Khanna Posted On : July 13th, 2021
B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering, Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management, Gwalior

You should only get those items that are essential and basic that you might require in the beginning. During Diwali, you will get a 10-day break after 3 to 4 months of classes beginning so you can think of getting more luggage than if required.

The campus is quite close to the main city and you can get all other basic necessities like mattresses, stationery, and other things easily. You can also shop online if you like.

But, mainly, you need to have a good smartphone and a laptop. If you don’t have a laptop at home, you should buy one before coming to college. If you don’t have that you can also buy a laptop here once you know which one you need. Buy it before Diwali though.

Lastly, you can also get some medicines that you need on a daily basis. This was all that most students bring on a regular basis.

  • It provides the best facilities for the students.
  • The Gwalior campus is the main campus of IITM in India.
  • The batch for BBA is good but you won’t have placement offers from the institute. You will get placement assistance from the college, but you will need to search for job offers on your own.
  • The college also provides skill training like in photography and tour guiding which will help you afterward.

How is the startup culture at IIITM Gwalior?

AS
Aditi Somani Posted On : July 28th, 2021
Studied at Lovely Professional University (2019)

One of my friends studying at IIITM Gwalior said that the startup culture there is actually better than most other technical colleges which give it an extra edge.

The college has two organizations dedicated to developing the startup culture in the college.

  • Entrepreneurship Cell (E-Cell) – They organize events regularly and create awareness among the students for the cause. They also help students with their customized needs.
  • Technology Innovation and Incubation Center (TIIC) – They could provide early funding of up to INR 25 lakhs without needing an external investor.

Apart from that, IIITM Gwalior has a very good position in the Atal Innovation Rankings which speaks of the innovation culture of the institute and the pedigree of the students.

The course curriculum of the institute is also not very demanding which is very much important for students pursuing entrepreneurial paths.

Are students from West Bengal in IIITM, Gwalior?

Integrated BTech+ MTech IT from Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management, Gwalior (2022)

Yes, there are students from West Bengal in IIITM, Gwalior. But, they are fewer in number.

In addition to this, you will also find a few non-residential Bengali from West Bengal studying in the college. You will find Bengalis from other parts of the country studying here. There are also few Bangali faculties at the campus.

Gwalior has its own Bengali community. Three to four Durga pujas are held around the city. Plus, you will have no problem finding non-vegetarian food in the city. My friend from the institute, who is a self-proclaimed foodie, also found few places in the city that sells fish.
