Anyone that says that your CGPA does not matter in placements is either trying to fool you or hasn’t experienced placements at DTU. Most companies evaluate your skills and knowledge on the basis of your CGPA and the ones with low grades often remain unplaced.
Recruiters want to hire students who show promising performances and achievements in their academic profile. Their high CGPA is a reflection of the hard work they are capable of. On average, always try to maintain your CGPA above 8.25 i.e. CPI:75+. Apart from enjoying your college life, it’s crucial to make the most out of your studies and get placed in a decent company.
IIIT Delhi is suitable for students with a passion for research and higher studies. If you aren’t one of those, choose either DTU or NSUT.

This scale is prescribed by AICTE. Both NSUT Delhi and DTU are approved by AICTE.
Let's consider the aforementioned parameters individually to draw a comparison between DTU and IIIT Hyderabad.
Teaching and Faculty: Without any second thoughts, I would say IIIT Hyderabad is way ahead of DTU in terms of faculty. It has a very highly experienced faculty pool that is involved in cutting-edge research work.
Social Life: DTU is well-known for its dynamic college life that will give you amazing memories, opportunities, and friends. Here, students are given time for both academics as well as extracurriculars to ensure a vibrant campus life and holistic development of the students. IIIT Hyderabad has a very rigid and monotonous campus life as it's filled with nerds.
Placements: Both the institutes have an equally good placement scenario despite the high difference in intake and number of branches. It's best to refer to official stats while comparing pavements and I have done that for you.

From the above table, it can be inferred that the placement scenario is equally good. Before you say that DTU has an average package that is lower than IIIT Hyderabad, consider the fact that it has multiple branches and a much higher intake than IIIT Hyderabad.
A parameter I would like to add on my own accord would be the ROI. Considering DTU’s low fees and equally good placements, it offers better ROI than IIIT Hyderabad
Ultimately, go for IIIT Hyderabad if you are a crazy computer lover and don’t mind a boring college life. But if you want a happening college life and want to explore various fields, DTU is the one for you!
Among the aforementioned institutes, NSUT, DTU, and IIIT Delhi are tier-1 Engineering colleges while COEP, RVCE, and BMS are Tier-2 colleges. Here is a general comparison between the two groups of people institutes

Hope the comparison was clear and will help you in making your decision.
DTU is a great college not only for Delhiites but students of North India as a whole. DTU has a diverse student crowd and welcomes students from all states, NRI students, and students from all over Asia and Africa. It’s hard to get any North-South feeling here especially when there is such great harmony between juniors and seniors. The professors also try their best to give individual attention to each student and are quite approachable. There is no such language barrier also as most professors are bilingual and try to deliver lectures in both Hindi and English.
DTU is a place where you will make friends irrespective of their cultural backgrounds. It’s the common interest and passions that bring the huge crown together.
If anything, I feel Outside Delhi students have the advantage of becoming a hosteller which in itself is a unique experience. They will be missing out on all the fun such as visiting the sports complex late at night, roaming around the campus late at night, and fully participating in organizing the fest.
Yes, DTU is a completely ragging-free campus, and the kind of mistreatment against juniors is reprimanded.
My friend shared her first-day experience at DTU. She arrived late and missed the orientation so had no idea where the classroom and hostel were. She was flustered and roamed around looking for her class for about 30 minutes. After losing all hopes she finally mustered the courage and approached a group of seniors and asked them about her class. One of them asked for her registration number and then searched the schedule on the official website. He then told her the exact directions to her class. He also gave his phone number and told her to contact him if she faced any issues in the future.
This anecdote alone proves that DTU is a ragging-free campus with extremely helpful seniors.
My friend also got to choose among NIT Calicut, NSIT (NSUT) and DTU last year. He decided to go for NSUT. NSUT has the best placement record out of the three, lagging behind only the top IITs (IIT Delhi, Bombay, Kanpur, Madras, Kharagpur) and BITS Pilani. NSUT is located in the national capital which adds to its list of advantages.

However, do consider the branch that you will be getting at each. CSE is the most preferred branch among Engineering students and recruiters at present.
Thus, based on your personal preferences and the branch offered at each, choose between NIT Calicut, NSUT and DTU. However, personally, I would recommend NSUT if you get a good branch in it.
BA Economics Honors is a newly launched program by DTU that is delivered under the department called the University School of Management and Entrepreneurship (USME). Other programs offered under this department are BBA and MBA.
Here are a few highlights pertaining to the BA Economics Honors:
Overall, I believe this institute in general and this program specifically has a lot of potential and anyone who fails to get into DU for Economics should consider joining it.
Both are great institutions and have given many successful students. Both of the institutes have a rich legacy, a strong alumni network and proper reputation.
It is suggested that you go for the institute in which you are getting your desired branch because it matters the most. If you are getting your desired branch in both the institutes, opt for DTU.
This is due to the location advantage which DTU enjoys. Delhi is certainly a better place in terms of opportunities than Rourkela and you will definitely get more industrial exposure. Even if you are inclined towards higher studies and research, Delhi definitely has more options for proper training and guidance.

However, it all depends on your priorities and what you seek from your college life. Compare all the things before finalizing your choice. Keep in mind that this will shape your career forward.
