First of all, congratulations on securing such a good rank in your examination. With the rank that you have achieved, you can very easily get admission into the CS branch of the institute. The fact that you have the advantage of a good girl’s rank would also increase the probability.

Based on my cousin’s experience, I will say, you can expect to be eligible for either Electronics and Instrumentation (EI) or Chemical Engineering if you belong to the general category.
Here is the latest cutoff trend for the institute.

The placement scenario for MCA is not considered as good as it is for B.Tech students in KNIT Sultanpur. The thing that matters the most is your consistency in working during MCA.
My brother has recently graduated from IET and based on his experience, I can suggest you a few points:
It is important to acknowledge that MCA placements are in no comparison with that of B.Tech but still it gives better exposure as compared to any Government College. BIET Jhansi does not offer MCA, so there’s no comparison with it.
Some of my friends from school are students of IET Lucknow. According to them, with this rank, you will get a seat in any branch of IET Lucknow. The latest UPSEE cut-off is shown in the following table.
Courses (IET Lucknow) | General |
M.B.A | 87 - 192 |
M.C.A | 63 - 138 |
B.Tech in Information Technology (IT) | 560 - 655 |
B.Tech in Computer Science Eng. (CSE) | 193 - 342 |
B.Tech in Electrical Eng. (EE) | 1045 - 1255 |
B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering | 773-979 |
A few years back a friend of mine got admission to the branch of engineering with a rank of 2415 in the general category and a rank of 518 in the OBC category.
So, there’s a good chance that you will get admission at IET Lucknow.
My brother is an alumnus of IET Lucknow. According to him, with this rank, you have a high chance of making it into IET Lucknow. In terms of the branch, you can definitely bag seats in the Electronics & Instrumentation (EI) branch. Apart from these branches, you can get seats in the Chemical Engineering (CH) branch, and with this rank, you also have big chances of making it into the Civil branch.
In the earlier rounds, these stats may not have been possible to come by but it is an approximate representation of the scenario after the fourth round of counseling is concluded. So, it’s better if you prepare accordingly.
If you want better infrastructure and exposure, and money is not an issue for you, choose CS/ECE Jaypee Noida. Regarding placements, speak with the seniors at Jaypee.
In terms of placement, IET Lucknow will undoubtedly provide you with numerous opportunities. You will be given a variety of opportunities, and there will be no limitations imposed by the college administration team.
My brother scored 428 in 2015, and he was qualified for the CSE branch, but instead, he chose ME. In the current situation, a score of more than 440 is required to obtain a spot in CSE.
Because the cut-off for each year varies, it's difficult to specify what the minimum marks are required for CSE.
You can check the cut-off stats for CSE in the last few years in the table below.
Year | General | OBC | SC | ST |
2019 | 193-342 | 357-495 | 2749-4252 | 9914 |
2018 | 7036 | 185-636 | 920-1891 | 4315-5089 |
Hope this gives you some idea about the cutoff required for CSE at IET Lucknow.
Electronics and Instrumentation and Electronics and Communication are a part of the electronics department. Both the branches are perfect in their place. Since I have some friends studying Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering at IET Lucknow, I might be able to answer your question.

The course is good but the placement stats are not very good. If good placement is what you are searching for as the main parameter then you may consider other options.
No, you cannot apply for UP and other scholarships while on a fee waiver seat. If you apply for a scholarship being on a fee waiver seat then your seat might get canceled as well.
The scholarships are provided by the government. They are not provided by the college. Once you fulfill the criteria. The dean of student welfare will help you out through the process and you will start receiving the scholarship from the government into your bank accounts.
