Both USIT and MAIT offer ECE and CSE as their flagship courses respectively. The deciding factor here is which subject you are more inclined towards. USIT is ranked 73rd for B.tech in 2019. Whereas, MAIT (IPU) is ranked 251 by NIRF.
Admission :
USIT: It offers a BTech-MTech dual degree in ECE.
For admission in USIT, aspirants must clear JEE mains or IPU-CET. IPU-CET ranking should be under 100 and JEE Main under 30000 in order to secure a seat in ECE
The yearly course fee is INR 70,000.
MAIT: The institute offers a BTech degree in CSE.
For admission in (CSE)MAIT, one has to secure a place in the top 500 ranks in the IPU CET exam or a JEE Main rank falling under 27,611.
MAIT offers 180 seats for CSE and the annual course fee is 1.15 lakhs.
Placement statistics:
USIT:
Around 150 companies take part in campus recruitment every year. Industry giants including IBM, Adobe, Flipkart, Amazon, Amazon are the top recruiters.
ECE branch at USIT has a placement rate of 80%.

CSE department holds the record of maximum students being placed every year in MAIT.
Both USIT and MAIT offer good ECE and CSE programs. You should choose the course and the college according to your branch of choice.
It is a bitter truth about the IPU that no college offers placements to the students. You will need to depend on yourself for building different skills through short-term courses, internships, or working on different projects.
But in general, MAIT is a reputed college where you can pursue EEE and there is no attendance issue in the college. It also has a good reputation among the IPU colleges. The average CTC offered at the institute is around 3 LPA.
I have few friends at MAIT and based on the reviews I got from them I will suggest you go for their EEE course. But don’t entirely demand the institute for opportunities.
If you have an interest in ECE, you should go for it. Always give your interest your priority more than the reputation of the college. There is no confusion or doubt that MAIT is a good college but if you are not interested in that and opt for IT at MSIT. Factors like crowd, placement, staff, facilities, and exposure also matter.
Advantages of ECE in MAIT:
Categories | ECE at MAIT |

College like MAIT, if you have an interest in ECE it will take you to great heights, and if you discover later than you don't have any kind of interest in ECE. You can go for an MBA without any fear of attendance issues.
One of my friends is studying in ECE in IPU MAIT so I can tell you about this. Here is what he had to say about the branch.

I will suggest that don't run behind colleges. Choose a college in which you are getting your desired branch and study hard and smartly.
One of my friends is from MAIT. He said that for the domain of competitive programming, DOTC is the famous programming club at MAIT. It has completed its 1st year. The people who joined are enthusiastic about competitive programming.
Programming helps in inculcating the thinking process and the skills in a human. When it comes to solving a given problem, it requires a lot of logical thinking skills which when processed gives a solution and it becomes difficult sometimes to catch up on a single line of code for a long time.
DOTC is a good initiative by the students of MAIT and the students should join it to have exposure in the field of programming.
I can give you some ideas about the two institutes as I have friends at both BVP and MAIT.
There are not many factors that make one college stand out. So, choose either of these two institutes according to your convenience.
