Should I drop or should I do a B.Tech from Bundelkhand University?

RB
Ria Barua, Posted On : October 19th, 2021
studied at Bundelkhand University, Jhansi (2018)

This is actually a difficult decision, as it varies among every individual. Go for a drop only if you are confident enough and well prepared for the exams next year. If not, it is better to join the college and make it count.

B.Tech is overall a very good course with lots of scope for scoring good marks and learning new things. Though Bundelkhand University may not be one of the popular choices for students to opt for B.Tech, if you want to study here, it is fine.

It is suggested that if you are an average student do not drop a year but go for Bundelkhand University. Remember that while studying there try not to meddle with the local people as it could sometimes take a wrong turn.

How is Sharda University, Noida for a B.Tech.?

JR
Jaya Roy Posted On : July 27th, 2021
Studies ECE at NIT Warangal 2022

One of my friends is a student at Sharda University and does not recommend it at all, in terms of B.Tech. He further says that the only positive aspects of the institute are its faculty and infrastructure.

The negatives, however, are crucial to know about:

  1. The students of Sharda University are not from the best environment. Most of them belong to affluent surroundings.
  2. Unfortunately, there is a huge internal politics that mostly surfaces in the university. The faculties are usually divided into several groups, and there are clashes at almost every imaginable moment.
  3. In addition to that, it has also obtained a very negative perception in the core academic world. Their brand has been widely recognized, but as my friend alleges, it does not live up to the expectations regarding the same. The value addition has surprisingly moved downhill over time.

The quality is not at all what was expected. You should mainly choose not to enroll at the university, especially if you have an unfavorable location constraint. If although you still face any, you might choose between Galgotia and Shiv Nadar since they are comparably better.

SV

studied Computer Science Engineering at Chandigarh University (2021)

HPTU has its own popularity from some of the colleges under its name. All the colleges are not up to the mark when certain things like Faculty, placement, infrastructure, or alumni are considered.

On the other hand, Chandigarh University (CU) holds a great reputation. It has great placement records in North India. So it is recommended that among the two opt for CU as it will prove to be beneficial to your career.

Is a B.Tech possible without a diploma in NERIST?

RM
Riya Mathur Posted On : September 10th, 2021
B.Tech. from North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology (2013)

Yes, B.Tech is possible without a diploma, after the new changes made by the NERIST curriculum. One of my friends studied there, and here’s what I got to know from him.

The institute has 3 different requirements for admission depending on the course. The NERIST entrance exams are: -

  • NEE: After secondary school (10th)
  • NEE 2: After the senior or the higher secondary 12th
  • NEE 3: After completing a 3-year course Diploma.

If you take admission on the basis of marks scored in 12th, then you will get a 4-degree. However, if you leave the college after 2 years, then you will be given a Diploma certificate.

Is Nirma University or UPES, Dehradun, better for a B.Tech?

NJ
Nikhil Juneja Posted On : July 29th, 2021
B.Tech in Civil Engineering from Nirma University (2017)

UPES Dehradun does not have a good enough reputation as it does not appear anywhere in the national rankings. On the other hand, Nirma University ranks among the top institutes. It is often in the top 50 best colleges in the country. It is one of the best in Gujarat and is also on equal footing with most of the NITs.

If you want to pursue CSE at Nirma University, the placements offers will be lucrative. The packages can go as high as INR 18 LPA. There are also tons of activities organized by the university which take place every now and then. You can participate in those for honing your skills.

A friend of mine used to be a student of Nirma University and he came across a few students of UPES Dehradun while he was doing an internship. From what he gathered, he thinks the institute is not up to the mark and leaves a lot to be desired. UPES Dehradun focuses more on technological knowledge.

You can opt for Nirma University for B.Tech without any second thought. The university offers great industrial exposure for the course.

Is it necessary to buy a laptop for a B.Tech at LNCT Bhopal? Is it allowed for a first year student to keep a laptop for their studies?

GJ
Gauri Joshi Posted On : September 3rd, 2021
B.E. Computer Science & Software Engineering, Lakshmi Narain College of Technology, Bhopal (2019)

One of my cousins graduated from LNCT Bhopal. According to him, the college does not really care if you bring a laptop or not. It is important only if you don't have a computer system at home.

If you're from CSE or IT departments, having a laptop becomes very important, almost necessary.

The laptop is though not mandatory in the classroom, but you should have it for the provision of self-study, projects and to learn and practice new programming languages. Also it is extremely necessary for practicing coding.

There are strict actions taken so that students do not use laptops or cellphones in the classroom. If it is for a class project or research, you might be able to use it then in a classroom. If you plan not to buy a laptop, you can buy a PC for your house.

MBA Marketing & Data Analytics, Indian Institute of Management Sirmaur (2021)

IIM Sirmaur is the best option among these. You will get good learning opportunities there. The faculties are highly qualified as any other IIM. Due to the smaller batch size, students get the required attention from professors.

The institute has a good placement record. IIM Sirmaur placement 2021 had an average CTC of INR 9.60 LPA. Besides the on-campus placement drive, the brand value will help you get jobs through offline applications.
