Studied at Pune University (2019)

One of my friends was in PUMBA and he told me that there is no comparison of PUMBA with MITSOM because of some straightforward facts.

  • Admission for OBC and Open students cutoffs are more at PUMBA than MITSOM; it is almost above 97%. But MITSOM is much lower than it.
  • The best thing about PUMBA is ROI. The fee for MBA is 1,30,000 only. MITSOM has three or four times more than PUMBA.
  • When it comes to placements, every year at least 85% of batch grab and offer for placement gets placed at PUMBA.

Which college is better, XISS or PUMBA?

It's hard to make a straightforward comparison between these two institutes as it depends on various factors such as fees, quality of education, infrastructure, program syllabus, ranking, placement opportunities, student intake, diversity, location, and more. Both institutes are reputable and offer management degrees as an end result, but one may come with a lower fee structure while the other may have a higher fee structure. Similarly, one institute may offer better placement opportunities than the other, and the overall comparison can be made based on the mentioned parameters.

With this percentile you should definitely wait for CAP, and if you have got some work experiencee that makes your case even more strong.

For your second question, yes you will get PUMBA or MET with this percentile but don’t go for them for now, wait and you can easily convert new IIMs.

I have got 79 percentile in CET.I am from SC category. Will I get admission in pumba or should I give ATMA in may?

TA

The total intake capacity is 60 seats. Out of the total, 30 seats will be filled as per statutory reservations only from the State of Maharashtra. For SC students, 8 seats are reserved.

The remaining 30 seats will be filled in the open category. 3% of the total intake capacity (i.e. 2 seats) shall be reserved for physically handicapped candidates.

Go For ATMA, 79 Percentile isn't that great to get you into PUMBA. Prepare for the ATMA and aim for a score of at least 90. Last year, the cut-off was close to 90%ile for SC Category.

As per DOMS PUMBA's second cut-off 2022, the institute recorded MAH CET cut off in the All India category of 99.85 percentile.

Should I go for an MBA from PUMBA or a big data course from CDAC?

SR
Sandhya R Posted On : May 3rd, 2023

The choice between a PUMBA MBA and a CDAC big data course is ultimately determined by your personal goals, hobbies, and career aspirations. Here are some things you should think about:

  1. Career Objectives: If you want to work in management, marketing, finance, or entrepreneurship, an MBA from PUMBA may be a better option. A CDAC course, on the other hand, maybe more appropriate if you are interested in a job in data analytics, data science, or big data.
  2. Skill Set: An MBA from PUMBA will provide you with a wide range of management, strategy, leadership, and financial skills and knowledge. A CDAC big data course, on the other hand, will teach you specialized technical skills in data analytics, data processing, and data visualization.
  3. Duration and Cost: A PUMBA MBA is a two-year full-time program, whereas a CDAC big data course may last a few weeks to a few months. An MBA program often costs more than a CDAC short-term course.
  4. Reputation: PUMBA is an internationally recognized business school with a solid reputation for academic achievement and industrial contacts. CDAC is a reputable technical education university, although its reputation in the management education arena may not be as well established as PUMBA's.

If you want to pursue a career in management, an MBA from PUMBA may be a better alternative, however, if you want to seek a job in data analytics, a big data course from CDAC may be a better fit. Finally, before making a decision, consider your job goals, talents, and budget.
