Among IIM Ranchi's PGD HRM and XAHR's MBA-HRM, which is a better programme?
Both programs have their own merits and demerits. Yet I am here to talk about XAHR’s MBA-HRM only. I will further list down some points in favor of my inclination toward this program particularly.

- Being one of the oldest Educational institutions in India, it has rich cultural values.
- It just does not focus on academics but also on the extracurricular growth of its students.
- The faculty is one of the most experienced ones, with both industry and teaching experience.
- The comprehensive curriculum makes it possible for the students to experience the HR Conclaves, Leadership talks, and Outbound Leadership Program(TSAF).
- The 3-month student exchange program is an excellent opportunity provided by the college.
- Its early establishment has helped develop a strong alumni base which brings in many top companies for recruitment.
- Excellent exposure is offered through Live Projects and Corporate Competitions.
All these features make the XAHR’s MBA-HRM program one of the most coveted courses in this field.
Will the new upcoming IIMs like (Rohtak, Ranchi, Trichy) overtake the SPJIMR in a few years?
Except for IIM Rohtak, the new upcoming IIMs like Trichy and Ranchi face tough competition with SP Jain. They are almost in the same league based on certain parameters and are bound to overtake SP Jain in the future. Let’s discuss some of these parameters
- Students profile: IIM Trichy takes in students with a slightly higher CAT score than SP Jain thereby the quality of the batch is better.
- Faculty: The faculty of IIM Trichy is comparable with SP Jain in many areas.
- Placements: Although the placements at SP Jain are better than these new IIMs, they have been stagnant for the past few years. Moreover, the placements at IIM Trichy and Ranchi are getting better every year.
- Growth potential: SP Jain has a decent growth potential but not more than the new IIMs. Their potential looks more promising.
- Alumni base: SP Jain has an upper hand in this aspect due to its early establishment.
- Location: SP Jain is at a better location than the new IIMs and they might suffer because of this. Yet some consider the city of Trichy not too far away from Mumbai and the disadvantage does not seem that huge.
All in all, there are high chances of the new IIMs taking over SP Jain anytime in the near future.
How would you rank and choose among IIM Trichy, Raipur, Ranchi and Kashipur?
- Placements: Ranchi and Trichy have remarkably similar placements. Ranchi's average package is 16.62 LPA, while Trichy's average package is 17.01 LPA.
- Campus: Trichy, hands down, for campus life. Trichy has a modern 175-acre campus with all amenities. In 2021, the institute began moving to a permanent campus on a 60-acre plot in Dhurwa.
- Locational Advantage: Both have a geographical advantage. Ranchi is near XLRI, Jsr. Trichy is conveniently located between Bangalore and Chennai. Trichy is also home to NIT Trichy, the best NIT in the country.
- Perception: Trichy's perception is rapidly expanding. It is fairly obvious from all B-school rankings. So, with the exception of marketing, you can choose IIM Trichy over IIM Ranchi for any specialization. Ranchi's marketing is effective.
What should be the order of choice for new IIMs, i.e. Ranchi, Trichy, Udaipur, Kashipur, Rohtak and Raipur?
Your choice of college depends on your personal preferences and interests. One college might be suitable for you but not for others. So your question is subjective and cannot be answered directly.
Every individual ranks a college depending on his own perspective and goals.
I think the best way is to contact students or pass-outs from respective colleges, collect data and then make a decision based on your research and then your preference. You can also look up the official websites of the college to collect relevant data. Find out the parameters that matter to you the most in your choice of college. Some include placements, diversity, location, batch strength, or faculty. Do your part of the research and then choose the college that fulfills the maximum boxes in your priority list.
Which College is better IIM Trichy or Raipur or Ranchi?

IIM Ranchi's MBA placement drive for 2022 saw 77 companies visit the campus for recruitment. The highest and average packages offered during this placement drive were INR 42 LPA and INR 16.62 LPA, respectively.
IIM Trichy's final placement report for 2022 showed that the institute attracted over 110 industry giants who offered a variety of job roles in Sales & Marketing, Finance, Consulting, IT & Analytics, Operations, and HR. The highest and average packages offered during this placement drive were INR 34 LPA and INR 17.01 LPA, respectively.
There are several ways to compare the quality of MBA programs at new IIMs such as IIM Ranchi and IIM Trichy. The first-generation IIMs clearly have many advantages over the second and third-generation IIMs. Some major differences include
- Infrastructure: Thenodler IIMs have their own permanent campuses whereas most of the newer IIMs either function through a temporary campus or have a permanent campus that is not at par with the older IIMs.
- Faculty: The older IIMs have better experienced and learned faculty than the newer ones. Also, the visiting faculty is much better at these IIMs. The student and faculty strengths are therefore strong here.
- Placements: The older IIMs have long-standing ties with corporate firms and top companies excelling in the placements scenario and leaving behind the new IIMs.
- Corporate Exposure: The exposure at older IIMs is better than that of newer IIMs due to their early establishment.
Which institute be selected for admission IIFT Delhi campus, IIM Trichy, IIM Udaipur, IIM Ranchi, MDI international Management?

If you are looking for legacy, established alumni, and faculty with decades of experience within the same institute, your options are

IIFT: This institute is a good option for people who wish to get into International business. I can any day prefer IIFT over the new IIMs.
MDI: MDI specializes in Marketing so anyone interested in this sector can go for MDI.
So it eventually depends on you and the specialization you want.
Which new IIM amongst Ranchi(R), Trichy(T) and Udaipur(U) is the best?
Without a second thought, I will say IIM Trichy is the best among these IIMs. To elaborate on my opinion, let’s compare the 3 IIMs on the bases of the following factors
Location: Both Udaipur and Ranchi face a considerable location advantage because of which they have been suffering. Trichy on the other hand enjoys a location advantage owing to its close proximity to Bangalore and Chennai. It lies in the belt of industries.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of IIM Ranchi is also one of its drawbacks. The classrooms are boring with no case discussion at all. The living conditions here are also scary. IIM Trichy and Udaipur both have excellent infrastructural faculties. IIM Trichy has its own campus which differentiates it from other baby IIMs.
Faculty: The faculty at IIM Ranchi is substandard with very less caliber. They don’t let students question or discuss their teachings. The faculty at Udaipur is better than Ranchi yet, they have started leaving gradually for better IIMs. IIM Trichy on the other hand boasts of a well-learned and experienced faculty.
Placements: The placement scenarios at Ranchi and Udaipur are both very average. While Ranchi complains of inflation, Udaipur only faces serious problems of low package offers. Whereas the placement figures at IIM Trichy are excellent owing to its connectivity.
So the final order is - IIM Trichy>IIM Udaipur>IIM Ranchi
Which one is better for an MBA consultancy with 6 years of IT experience: IIM Ranchi or IIM Trichy?
IIM Trichy is an institute that has demonstrated significant improvement in recent years and is focused on becoming one of the top 5 IIMs. It has a strong connection with industry, which is further strengthened by the presence of its Chennai Centre, which directly connects with industries across India.
