I am a student at IIIT Allahabad. Here are a few parameters to compare these two options-
MNNIT is a good college, but IIIT Allahabad offers top notch facilities and opportunities. I would recommend you choose IT at IIIT Allahabad over CSE at MNNIT.
IT department is nothing less than just excellent. The faculty here is immensely experienced and talented with Ph.D. degrees from IISC Bangalore or some reputed foreign institute.
23 students were also selected from NIT Surathkal for the google summer of code (GSOC) and it also scored 13th rank in the ICPC Asia contest. One of the most successful startups is PRACTO, which is a venture of NIT Surathkal alumini.
BIET Jhansi is an institution known for the fact that their students are capable enough to study and learn about the subjects all by themselves. The college encourages the fact that the students need little to no guidance from the institute itself. My sister was pursuing CS from BIET and she mentioned that the IT branch in the college is self-financed.
Students aiming for better salary packages and job opportunities have to work hard on their own. The complete dependence on the institute without much of your effort, will only provide you with the basic and comparatively lower salary package of 3 LPA.

If you are planning to have a bright future in the IT field, it is a good idea for you to start learning and practicing all the coding languages beforehand and try attempting beginner level problems as well.
Moreover, please note that IT is one branch which needs a little more dedication and sincerity as compared to the other branches of engineering studies. Hence, whatever college/university you choose for IT, hard work and interest will push you to do your best.
It depends on what you want to do in the future. If you are interested in pursuing post-doctoral studies, then pursuing 5 years of integrated course from IIITM Gwalior has more pros than cons, thus it's totally worth it. If your aim is to pursue higher studies abroad by clearing GRE then it's better to go for a 4-year course.
IIITM Gwalior is one of the 3 institutions in India with 100% Ph.D. faculties. Ranked 100 for engineering by NIRF in 2020, IITM has overall 262 Integrated seats which are comparatively higher than other reputed institutes.
Admission:
IIITM Gwalior accepts only JEE Main ranking for the admission process.
Securing the rank within 7213-14442 in JEE Main will fetch admission in IIITM Gwalior.
For general (PWD) category 347-462 bust the ranking in order to secure a seat in B.Tech + M.Tech integrated course.
Aspirants of OBC (Non-creamy layer) must secure a rank between 3,800-6300 for the integrated B.Tech + M.Tech courses and rank of 4737-7903 for B.Tech + MBA Integrated course.
The admission process is carried through JoSAA Counselling and CSAB Special Round.
IIITM Gwalior offers 262 seats for the integrated courses with the yearly Tuition fee of 84,325.
Campus:
Amidst the picturesque landscape in the foothills of Gwalior fort, the IIITM campus is spread across 160 acres.
The campus is equipped with all required facilities for the overall development of students; a huge central library, department libraries, study rooms, well-equipped labs, indoor badminton courts are few to name.
There are 30+ labs, amazing infrastructure with air-conditioned classrooms, libraries with thousands of standard books per branch, hostel facilities, food court.
Placement statistics:
400+ companies participate in the recruitment process every year. Top recruiters include Amazon, Expedia, IBM, TCS, HCL, DELL, Paytm, Myntra.
90% of the students get placed at top companies with an average salary of 14.58 LPA.
The highest domestic CTC offered in 2020 is 42 LPA.
150+ students were recruited on campus in 2020, with Infosys and Cognizant offering the maximum offers.
lITM Gwalior is best for integrated courses. But in the end, it's the student's priority which matters. The deciding factor will be the course that you are opting for and future goals.
Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) offers the seat matrix for all the IIITs in India. For IIIT Allahabad, the following is the seat matrix for the academic year 2020-21:

Therefore, there are a total of 250 seats in Information Technology.
The Information Technology (IT) branch at MNNIT Allahabad is as good as the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) branch at the institute. There is not a major difference between the two branches.
The bottom line is that if you are not getting CSE, then you should definitely consider IT if you are interested in coding.
You have to decide based on the field in which you are passionate. There is not much difference in the curriculum framework since both are IIITs.

One of my friends pursued Mechanical Engineering from NIT Raipur. So, I know a little bit about the institute. Some of the most promising features I found about NIT Raipur are as follows:
Overall, IT at NIT Raipur is a good branch, with decent placement records.
One of my friends completed his BTech from BIT Mesra, and I got to know a little bit about the institute through him. The institute has a decent placement record. Almost 92% of students get placement offers with an average CTC of 6 LPA.
Placement Statistics:
A brief highlight about the placement of the IT branch at BIT Mesra is as follows.
Average CTC |
12 LPA |
Highest CTC |
49.76 LPA |
Top Recruiters |
Microsoft, Amazon, Google |
Job Roles |

My friend also had a few seniors who didn’t prepare at all for placement but got placement offers anyway from the IT branch.
For a B.Tech in CS or IT, YMCAUST, Faridabad is better. It has a better CSE faculty. The placement and exposure offered are also better than DCRUST, Murthal. Better CS/IT companies visit YMCA, Faridabad placements. According to the recent placement highlights, the highest CTC offered is around INR 29 LPA.
