My friend is a student of AIIMS Raipur. She shared her experience of her college life there.
The campus is situated a bit far from the residential areas. The faculty is very professional and experienced. They cooperate with you throughout the medical examination process.
What catches the eye is the cleanliness of the campus. It’s exceptionally well-maintained and tidy.
The library is massive with an extensive collection of academic books. The annual fest Oriana is a fun-filled event that every student of AIIMS Raipur looks forward to. Many trips are also planned to develop good relationships between students.
My friend says her experience in AIIMS Raipur was one of a kind.
If you are a student at AIIMS Raipur, you won’t have a uniform in the first year. You will be asked to wear decent clothes that are usually formal. This leaves a good impression on your patients when you will be going for clinical posting in the next year.
The best part is our names are printed on our lab coats written above the AIIMS logo.
Whether you should leave Seth GS for AIIMS or not can be understood only after going through a general comparison between the two:
Academics: The academics of both colleges are somewhat similar.
Lifestyle: KEM is located in Mumbai so you will have to go through the metro lifestyle which includes pollution, crowd, and an unhygienic lifestyle.
Hostel: Hostel facilities are much better in AIIMS than in KEM. Also, KEM does not provide hostel facilities to 1st-year students. The hostels in KEM are very crowded.
Crowd: KEM has a larger batch and there might be crowding.
The final decision is yours.
The general answer is yes. AIIMS hostels do provide separate rooms for students. But this does not apply to every AIIMS.
For example, AIIMS Delhi and AIIMS Raebareli provide separate rooms but AIIMS Raipur doesn’t. The 1st year students have to share rooms with 3-4 other students.
So it all depends on which AIIMS hostel you are in.
