Which is better, CSD at IIITD, ICE at NSIT, EE at DTU or IT at MAIT?

AB
Ashmit Banerjee Posted On : April 13th, 2022
studied at Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi (2020)

If you are interested in Computer Science and want to pursue MS/Ph.D. from universities abroad, after graduation, IIITD CSD is the best option for you. IIITD CSD placements are also pretty good. During the 2021 placement drive, the average CTC offered was INR 16.56 LPA.

If you find Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation and Control Engineering interesting and want to go for GATE/PSU/MTech, then choose the respective streams at DTU/NSIT. These branches aren’t usually open for most IT and coding-based jobs. For an MBA or a non-tech, career path, DTU or NSIT will be better as well.

What should I choose, EEE in MAIT or IT in MSIT?

HB
Himika Banerjee Posted On : July 7th, 2021
B.Tech Information Technology, Maharaja Surajmal Institute of Technology (2020)

Your choice of the course and college should totally depend upon your interests. If you have an interest in the electrical domain of engineering then you should go for EEE. If not then you should consider the IT branch for your career. It is extremely difficult to study subjects that you do not like. Now, if you are only looking out for good placement opportunities and do not have any keen interest in both of these two domains of engineering then IT at MSIT can be a pretty good option for you as the placement scenario of the college is much better than that of EEE in MAIT.

Most of the EEE students enrolled in MAIT get job opportunities in IT companies as there are very few jobs available in the core companies of the Electrical Engineering department.

Also, MSIT is situated in the heart of Janakpuri, so you will have many good places to hangout with your friends in your free time.

MAIT: The institute offers a BTech degree in CSE.

  • For admission in (CSE)MAIT, one has to secure a place in the top 500 ranks in the IPU CET exam or a JEE Main rank falling under 27,611.

Which is better ECE at NIEC IPU or EEE at MAIT IPU? In terms of placement.

SD
Shakhar Dasgupta Posted On : July 8th, 2021
B.Tech Information Technology, Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology (2020)

It is a bitter truth about the IPU that no college offers placements to the students. You will need to depend on yourself for building different skills through short-term courses, internships, or working on different projects.

But in general, MAIT is a reputed college where you can pursue EEE and there is no attendance issue in the college. It also has a good reputation among the IPU colleges. The average CTC offered at the institute is around 3 LPA.

I have few friends at MAIT and based on the reviews I got from them I will suggest you go for their EEE course. But don’t entirely demand the institute for opportunities.

Should I take ECE in MAIT?

AM

If you have an interest in ECE, you should go for it. Always give your interest your priority more than the reputation of the college. There is no confusion or doubt that MAIT is a good college but if you are not interested in that and opt for IT at MSIT. Factors like crowd, placement, staff, facilities, and exposure also matter.

Advantages of ECE in MAIT:

  • They offer great placement opportunities where you can sit for both IT and CSE job interviews.
  • They have an incredible faculty, well educated, and highly experienced.
  • The attendance rules are not as strict as in other colleges.
  • ECE is a great branch. It provides you with core knowledge and also gives you a practical insight into the subject.
  • You get great government job offers.

Is there any chance to get a CS in MAIT with a 1,823 rank (general, Delhi)?

SD
Sagnik Dutta Posted On : July 5th, 2021
Studied at B.Tech from Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology (2018)

Yes, there are very high chances of you securing a seat at MAIT in the CS department unless the competition is too high and there are no changes in the selection criteria of the college.

  • In MAIT, the college also offers a second shift for branches like CSE, EEE, ECE, etc. which helps students in getting more opportunities and get admission into their desired branches after all the required procedures are completed.
  • Also, the students enrolled for the second shift in any of the above-mentioned courses get an option to upgrade their shifts to the first shift after a year if they score the desired percentage.
  • Both the shifts have experienced faculty members assigned for teaching purposes.
  • Practically, you just need to get admission into the college be it any of the two shifts, and work hard for a better future.

As per student testimonials, the level of education and understanding is just as good in the second shift as it is in the first one.

What should I take, IT in MAIT (IPU) or CSE in BVP, MSIT? I have a great interest in programming and my home is near to MSIT and BVP.

SJ
Suchandra Jha Posted On : July 5th, 2021

Speaking about IT and CSE, both are almost the same with some changes in their base subjects. Some of my friends graduated with IT and CSE degrees. According to them, apart from the first and second year, it’s the same. There are more languages in CSE.

  • In this case, your choice should depend on the college statistics and the placements. Your entire future is decided by this decision so consider the college and then the course properly.
  • Keep the course as your first preference and the college as the second.
  • The course of your choice will keep you more focused and keep you more determined.
  • In today’s world CSE has more value than any other subject whether it’s on or off-campus. It’s always in high demand and will stay for a very long time.
  • A close senior was from the ECE branch in MSIT and she got placed in HSBC with a package of 12 LPA as a software developer.
  • Companies recruit from some particular branches which are in more demand than others and also the core branches.
  • Your choice of subject will prove more beneficial than your college.

  2. BVP: - BVP is also a well-known institute for CSE and IT. It also has good stats of record placements.

How do I change my shift from the second to the first at MAIT? I am a boy from Delhi.

SP
Snigdha Paul Posted On : July 22nd, 2021
Studied at Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology

Changing shifts at MAIT is very easy and there is no need to worry about it. However, you must ask yourself these questions before shifting the batch - Did you wish to change your shift officially or did you simply want to sit and study in the classes which took place in the first shift?

  • In case yours is the first case, then you can easily change your shift from the university, and if your case is the second then you need to visit the Director-General of the college.
  • But first, write an application in which you pronounce the reason for changing the shift. Give a good reason for that, explain it well.

However, the second option might feel better to you in comparison with the first because then you will not have to spend 10,000–12,000 and you will be able to change it within 24 hours.

For that, you will have to talk to the Dean or the HOD of the department and give them a convincing reason to accept your request. The process will be easy because it involves the simple act of communication, and wouldn't require any formality, but your reason should be plausible enough for them to grant your request.
