How is the electronics and instrumentation branch at IET-DAVV, Indore?
IET DAVV, Indore is a good option for Electronics and Instrumentation branch. It offers decent academics, faculties, and placements. The placement opportunities offered are mostly in IT/CS domain. No core companies from EI take part in the campus drive. According to the recent highlights of IET DAVV placements, the average and highest CTC offered for the branch are INR 3.5 LPA and INR 11 LPA, respectively. Companies such as HSBC, MuSigma, Byjus, Accenture, etc. took part in the placement drive.
I got 102marks in the JEE and 82.1 in the MP Board. Can I get the SGSITS or the IET DAVV?
It would be a bit difficult to get listed in both the colleges, but in college-level counseling, there is still a 50% chance. A friend of mine got admission to the EI branch at IET DAVV with a rank of AIR 1,60,000 (general category) through CLC.
You might get branches like EI, Biomedical, etc. You can get these branches in college-level counseling or even in the second round. But it’s risky. If you fail to get in, you may have to drop a year. My friend got lucky with the seat. I will only recommend going for it, if you are willing to drop a year or have other alternatives.

- Faculty: The educational qualification of SGSITS professors are PhD holders from, old IITs and IISC. And only a few IET DAVV professors have PhDs from IIT and IISC.
- Placement: SGSITS is one of the oldest colleges and thus has a good placement record. Its Alumni are also wider and good. That is why every department of students of SGSITS got placed including CSE and EC. Companies such as Adani, Aditya Birla, Adobe, Asian Paints, Axis Bank, Deloitte, etc come for campus placement. On the other hand, IET DAVV also has decent placement. IET DAVV mostly has software companies as a recruiter. But its placement record is not better than SGSITS.
- Campus and Student Life: IET DAVV has good campus and student life. It has a good cultural fest. While SGSITS has good technical fests.
- Reputation and brand value: The reputation of SGSITS is better than IET DAVV and gives more brand value in a long run. IET DAVV is popular only in MP but SGSITS has a nationwide reputation.

SGSITS:
- SGSITS is a government-run college so there is no management quota too. This is one of the oldest and reputed colleges of Madhya Pradesh and to get admission you have to score very good marks in your JEE exams.
- You can also apply for college-level counseling but for this, you need a higher JEE rank.
- If you are from Madhya Pradesh itself, then you can increase your chances for admission by showing your MP domicile certificate.

My rank is 30961 in JEE Mains. Can I get CSE in IET DAVV?
With a JEE Main rank of 30961, you have a good chance of getting CSE. According to the recent trends of IET DAVV cutoff, the opening and closing ranks for CSE were 30635 and 41692 respectively. If you don’t get CSE in the first round, you should get it in the second round of counseling. Naturally, the required cutoff changes every year depending on various factors.
