It is dependent on the course you wish to enroll in. Some courses are quite popular at Chandigarh University, whereas others are popular at DAV College.
If you are looking for better infrastructure and placements, Chandigarh University should be preferred over DAV. It has been awarded an A+ grade by NAAC and is the only state-private university to be accredited by NAAC.
The curriculum followed at CU is industry-oriented and based on market standards. The level of exposure you will receive here is exceptional with numerous opportunities. Apart from this, Chandigarh University has tie-ups with international institutions.
The university has recorded excellent placement records with participating companies like Microsoft, Google, Amazon, IBM, Walt Disney, Oracle, and many more.
Both Chandigarh University and GNDU are good in their own respects. The choice varies from person to person.
Chandigarh University:
GNDU:
If you want to join a university without having to go through any admission test, CU will be the right option, because GNDU requires students to appear for an exam prior to admission. The selection then will be based on this.
Among the above two institutes, BIT Patna is a better choice, considering the guarantee of placement in the institute. There are several advantages of studying in BIT Patna, some of which are stated in the key highlights. The table below gives a brief level of comparison between the two institutes.

When it comes to placement, Chandigarh University is far ahead then Chitkara and LPU. According to my friends at Chandigarh University, it provides better opportunities during placements also. The scope of higher education is also good.

Chandigarh University has a different department set especially for the placement of the students and when a university institutes such a separate department that will focus only on the placement ratio then it’s hard to compete with it.
HPTU has its own popularity from some of the colleges under its name. All the colleges are not up to the mark when certain things like Faculty, placement, infrastructure, or alumni are considered.
On the other hand, Chandigarh University (CU) holds a great reputation. It has great placement records in North India. So it is recommended that among the two opt for CU as it will prove to be beneficial to your career.
The University of Chandigarh and Punjab Engineering College are equally good. It finally depends on you and what you are passionate about, as chemical engineering has a broader curriculum than IE.
Students opting for Chemical Engineering can specialize in the fields of Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics, Polymer Science & Technology, Energy Management, Biochemical Engineering, Separation Processes, Reaction Engineering, Pulp and paper, and Environmental Engineering.
Industrial Engineering is somewhat similar to Mechanical Engineering but not quite. Students will get to learn about manufacturing processes, manufacturing systems, systems engineering, IT, Networks, basic shop floor communications, and much more.
In the following table, you will get basic information about the colleges -

But the Production and Industrial Engineering Branch of Punjab Engineering College is better. It also gives lots of opportunities to students both in education and placement. Also, even if you go for chemical engineering, you will for IE.
Therefore, choosing Production and Industrial Engineering from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh is a better option than Chemical Engineering of Chandigarh University, as it has more opportunities.
One of my friends studied at Chandigarh University (CU). According to him, CSE at CU is really good compared to other colleges of its level.
CSE here is mainly popular for its placements. More than 100 companies participate in their placement program.
Categories | CSE at Chandigarh University |
Course Fee | INR 7.24 lakh |
Placement Percentage | 80% |
Highest CTC | 16 LPA |
Average CTC | 6 LPA |

They also have experienced faculty and management policies. They have also improved their hostel facilities and campus environment. All in all CU is a really good option for pursuing CSE.
Himachal Pradesh University (HPU) is a well-renowned government university that offers quality education to students. However, when it comes to placements, there have been instances where the university has not performed as well as expected. It's important to note that placement outcomes are not solely dependent on the university, but also on other factors such as location, curriculum, alumni network, and industry relations.
On the other hand, if you choose to enroll in Chandigarh University, you can expect to be offered more industry-oriented and up-to-date courses that can increase your chances of getting a good placement. You will also have access to a dedicated placement cell that will assist you in finding job opportunities. It's important to note that there may be competition from Computer Science Engineering (CSE) students during placements, but if you have the required skills and knowledge, you can certainly succeed.
There are many successful MCA graduates from Chandigarh University who have secured good placements in reputed companies. If you are looking to secure a bright future, opting for CU may be a good choice for you. It's important to thoroughly research and consider all the factors before making a decision.
Both Avantika University or G.D.Goenka Universityare not mainstream design colleges. It is suggested not to opt for any of the colleges as they are primarily engineering-based and design is the third priority.
The present status of the design department is on the verge of collapsing in both of the institutions. They almost got shut down last year. The number of students was very less and the existing students shifted elsewhere.
Rather than going to Avantika University or G.D.Goenka, you can go to other colleges such as the World University of Design and MIT Pune. These are the institutes you should be joining if you are looking forward to pursuing Designing. Both are mainstream design universities and way better than what you are thinking of.
