How is life at AIIMS Patna, Bhubaneswar, Bhopal, Jodhpur, Rishikesh? Is it as cool as life at AIIMS Delhi?
Life at AIIMS Delhi cannot be compared to other AIIMS as it is the mother AIIMS and will always be a notch better than others. Also, its location plays a major advantage in giving you the best college-life experience.
After AIIMS, what was fulfilled by expectations of a dynamic college life was AIIMS Jodhpur. It certainly is heaven for food lovers and has many watering openings every now and then. For everyone, there is a set criteria for a good college life and for my sister, it was one that gave her freedom and academics on the same plate. AIIMS Jodhpur ended up as the best choice fulfilling both criteria.
- AIIMS Jodhpur has a huge campus that is maintained decently and is very safe. My sister loved strolling across the campus and enjoying the serenity of the campus.
- There are many places to travel to during weekends and Rajasthan is a good option.
- AIIMS Jodhpur is known for its dynamic sports environment which is better than any other AIIMS.
- There is no ragging and harmony between seniors and juniors is a common sight.

AIIMS Jodhpur offers a splendid college life second only to AIIMS Delhi.
Currently, which would be a better choice, IMS BHU, AIIMS Bhopal or AIIMS Jodhpur?
My sister got selected for all the 3 aforementioned institutes and was confused for a long time before making her final decision. She weighed the pros and cons of all the 3 institutes; IMS BHU, AIIMS Bhopal, and AIIMS Jodhpur, and realized that IMS BHU has the benefit of internal PG reservation but was very lacking in terms of hostel facilities. That was a factor she wasn't willing to overlook so she looked upon AIIMS Bhopal and got to know about its fast-paced development and excellent hostel facilities.

AIIMS Bhopal seemed to be the most promising option for her and she was excited to experience the freedom there and ended up choosing it. As for you, you can consider your proximity to home as a crucial determining factor. If you hail from UP, IMS BHU can be a suitable choice for you else AIIMS Bhopal and Jodhpur are excellent options.
Should I go for AIIMS Bhopal or MGM Indore?
AIIMS Bhopal is a prestigious medical institution set up under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY). Carrying forward the AIIMS legacy, AIIMS Bhopal aims at improving the standards of the medical field in India. Being funded by the central government, it certainly gives an edge to many State Govt Medical Colleges. Here are a few parameters to consider
- All AIIMS have state-of-the-art infrastructure such as fully air-conditioned LTs and Central Library.
- The batch size of AIIMS is smaller in comparison to State Medical Colleges and thus has a better teacher-to-student ratio.
- AIIMS has a better faculty owing to its unique recruitment style.
- AIIMS Bhopal provides a sufficient number of Cadavers per batch which are crucial for Anatomy. State colleges have fewer cadavers and more students.
- No weekly or monthly exams.
- AIIMS M.B.B.S. Fees are very low fees around INR 5856 for the entire course.
- AIIMS has excellent hostel facilities that are nowhere like the horrible hostels of many state colleges.
- AIIMS promotes sports through its excellent indoor and outdoor facilities. Pravah is the Annual Sports Meet of AIIMS Bhopal.
- AIIMS has a more diverse student body than state colleges.
- AIIMS provides you with the much coveted AIIMS tag.
Getting a seat in AIIMS is a miracle. MGM is also a good medical college. It is one of the oldest medical schools in Asia and was converted into the present medical college in 1948.
How are the hostel rooms in AIIMS Jodhpur and in AIIMS Bhopal?
AIIMS Jodhpur is very popular for its hostels and its hostels are one of the major features which set it apart from other government medical colleges in India. AIIMS Jodhpur has well-built and maintained hostels with all major modern facilities and amenities.
- Hostel rooms at AIIMS Jodhpur are offered on a single or double-sharing basis.
- There are 250 rooms in the boy’s hostel and 125 rooms in the girls' hostel.
- The rooms are clean and well-maintained.
- Each room has an almirah, a study table with drawers, a chair, a small low-height table, a bed with storage, a mattress, and pillows.
- The rooms are spacious and well-painted with a balcony outside each room with a common area on each floor.
- AIIMS Jodhpur Hostels also have a common dining hall, a mess, and a recreational area.
- The hostels have restrictions as well and the wardens are extremely strict.
- The institute doesn’t allow inductions and cooking in the hostel rooms.
- The fees for hostels at AIIMS Jodhpur are very affordable which is around INR 990 for MBBS.
AIIMS Bhopal hostels are also well-maintained and have good infrastructure. The hostel rooms at AIIMS Bhopal have good furniture, with around 3/4th of a wall fitted with wooden furniture. The rooms are equipped with all the amenities such as a bookshelf, table, chair, bed, mattress, drawer, and table. There are no attached washrooms but the common washrooms are also very clean and hygienic.
Why have you not opted for MAMC KGMC UCMS VMMC through the NEET instead opted for AIIMS Bhopal?
People opt for AIIMS Bhopal over medical colleges like MAMC, KGMC, UCMS, and VMMC because of their personal preferences and have no grudge against these colleges. The two main reasons why someone would choose AIIMS are because of the AIIMS tag and their readiness to work hard for PG entrance exams.
Academically, all the aforementioned colleges are at the same level even in terms of infrastructure, facilities, and opportunities. Honestly, an MBBS from most medical colleges is similar with little changes. Most colleges provide a similar experience and it’s in PG that the college actually matters. Someone has rightly said that many average colleges produce great doctors while some great colleges produce average doctors. So yes, the institute matters but not to the extent that your career is hampered in any way.
Always remember Mediocre colleges can produce excellent doctors and excellent colleges can produce mediocre doctors. It’s the decision you make and the skills you acquire that make you a successful doctor and not the institute.
Sir will it be good to opt AIIMS Bhopal if I get 658 marks in Neet over BHU or kgmc?
All the institutes are good at providing the best academics to the students. AIIMS Bhopal was established in 2012 in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, and is renowned for its infrastructure and campus. You will be given excellent placement support and an extra add-on to the AIIMS tag. The hostel facilities are pretty good, as they respect the privacy of students and offer a single room for everyone. The work culture, faculty support, college environment, and rich alumni network are commendable. They play a major role in increasing the potential of every student through their effective academic structure. So AIIMS Bhopal is the better option than BHU and KGMC.
How is the USMLE environment in AIIMS Bhopal?
Despite being a new AIIMS, Bhopal has witnessed s steady growth in the USMLE environment with several students clearing MLE every year and bagging residency spots.
Roughly, 5-15% of the AIIMS Bhopal batch prepares for USMLE and the ratio is similar to other top colleges. However, the past few years have witnessed a decline in the number of students preparing for USMLE due to other popular exams like PLAB, AMC, and Germany as well.
So it can be said that AIIMS Bhopal has an environment that directly helps you prepare for these exams and the seniors are encouraging enough. It’s highly advisable to get your clinical electives sorted out in your MBBS years only because as an intern you will not get any leave for this.
What should be the order of preference of colleges among VMMC, LHMC, and AIIMS Bhopal/Jodhpur?
Selecting the right order of preferences is very crucial during counseling, otherwise, you will end up losing an opportunity to study at a good college. I won’t be specifying any order of preference rather will guide you to the same.
- Affiliation: VMMC is affiliated with IP, LHMC is affiliated with DU and AIIMS is a central government institute.
- PG Reservation: VMMC has an internal PG reservation, LHMC has a PG reservation within DU-affiliated medical while AIIMS has no PG reservation at all.
- Infrastructure: The infrastructure of all the colleges is at the same level except LHMC because of being extremely old.
- Academics: Academically, all the aforementioned institutes are similar and there are no major differences.
- College life: Located in Delhi, VMMC and LHMC offer slightly better city life than other institutes. No doubt Jodhpur and Bhopal are also big cities but cannot be compared to the urban life of Delhi. Delhi has many places to explore and great eateries also.
Based on the above points, make your own order of preference. Determine your priorities and then rank the colleges as per your needs.
How are the hostel rooms in AIIMS Bhopal?
The hostel facilities at AIIMS are quite good. The rooms are complete with an outward-facing personal balcony. They provide all required furniture, i.e. a wooden cot with a big sliding drawer underneath, a study table, a three-drawer mini self, and a low side table. There are shelves for your books and an elaborate cupboard for all your belongings too.
How is life at AIIMS Bhopal and Bhubaneshwar?
I have a few pieces of information on life at AIIMS Bhubaneswar. My friend is a second-year M.B.B.S. student there and shared her experience of her first year.
- To begin with, she was amazed by the huge diversity of the students here as she got to interact with students from all over the country and felt the cultural differences to the core.
- The festivals break all boundaries and all the students can be seen celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi, Onam, and Pongal with the same zeal. The festival celebrations are the most lively moments of college life here.
- Apart from festivals, there are many cultural fests, sports events, literary competitions, and a number of other exciting events that make your college life lively.
- There is great harmony between seniors and juniors and seniors are ever ready to help.
- The faculty is also very friendly and cooperative and the labs are equipped with the latest instruments.
