Which is a better institute for pursuing MBA in Bangalore: Alliance university or the ISBR?

SB
Smanarukh Bhat Posted On : March 1st, 2021
Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore (2019)

Alliance University used to be one of the best institutes for MBA in Bangalore. But, it has lost its credibility now. ISBR is also an average institute. However, ISBR is comparably better than Alliance University.

I know a few students from both institutes. Based on their experience, placement record of the institutes, course fee structure, it can be said that ISBR is a better option. As compared to Alliance University, ISBR has better infrastructure, faculty, foreign exposure, and extra-curricular activities.

Although apart from these two institutes, there are several other good options to pursue MBA in Bangalore. So, do your research and choose wisely.

If you don’t have any other top-ranked colleges in your hand, you can consider going to Alliance University. Most students have a neutral stance towards it. The campus is quite good with lush greenery and a major plus point is that they update their curriculum quite frequently.

  • When it comes to the food, the canteen maintains quite good hygiene standards and you will definitely like that food there.
  • A library is also a popular place with around 50,000 different books and other learning sources as well.
  • The university is one of the best B-schools in south India. Some of the noteworthy rankings are as follows:

Rank

Awarded by

3rd Best B-School among private University in India

Times B School Survey 2019

19th Best B-school in India overall

Times B School Survey 2019

16th Best Private colleges in India

Outlook India 2020

Placements:

  • The college has really good placements especially when it comes to business courses.
  • The highest salary package offered was INR 22.6 lakhs per annum and an average package of INR 7.56 lakhs per annum for MBA placements.
  • Companies like Amazon, Paytm, MakeMyTrip recruit students annually.

There are chances that you might receive negative feedback regarding the management of the college. But, my advice to you would be to visit the college once before planning to take admissions. The rankings mentioned above are quite good in my opinion. There might be a few issues since the change in management but overall, you should have a good time.

How is international business at Alliance University?

HK
Harish Kumar Posted On : January 29th, 2021
MBA from Alliance University (2016)

As of now, it would not be advisable for you to join Alliance University as an academic option. The college is in serious trouble and fails to complete the academic requirements of the candidates. Consequently, the education and future of thousands of students enrolled in this university have been left in the hanging position because of a family feud.

About - Alliance University:

  • The future of the university in the upcoming years is really unsettled. On the other hand, the candidates have got multiple options to choose from other than Alliance University. So, It would really be advised not to consider Alliance University as an option to study.
  • Secondly, an MBA major in International Business is offered at Alliance University. But specialization in International Business rarely attracts quite a large number of students in any of the business schools, this also holds true for Alliance University.

The table below shows the placement statistics of the institute.

Average CTC

7 LPA

International Business, No of Placements

4

According to student reviews, Alliance University is not the right choice to pursue studies now. Former students of the university also assure that you would not be able to pursue IB as a specialization at this university.

How is Alliance University in respect of placement and what is the average placement here? I have an interview for Alliance University.

A
Admin Posted On : May 2nd, 2022

You’re not specific for which program you’re asking from the placements in the alliance. But I’ll provide you with a few insights that Alliance University is the best in business school as far as I know. Because my sister has studied there and her experience was outstanding. The best thing is that they focus on their students so much and the faculties are concerned and encouraging there.

Placements are insanely crazy in alliance, the official site for the school reports says that the highest package will be 21.6 lakh per annum and the average package is 7.6 lakh per annum which is way too good. In 2022, there were 100% placements of MBA students at Alliance University with the top companies of all time, are CISCO, Amazon, Bicon, American Express, PWC, Wipro, Tata, Allegis Group, Oracle, Accenture, ANZ, Capgemini, Cognizant, Deloitte and many more.

Alliance University provides best faculty with the best infrastructure for their students so personality development should happen through interactive classroom sessions, company visits, field visits, group discussions, etc. Alliance mainly emphasizes the overall growth of a student rather than growth in their particular field only.

Alliance offers 5 specializations in the MBA program, named:

  • Marketing
  • Finance
  • HRM
  • OM
  • International Business

Apart from studies, Alliance provides many co-curricular activities like they have clubs and committees in which students can participate and enhance their networking. It also conducts many conferences national/international, which can be very useful for a student to get to know many people.

The Cutoff for NMAT to get into Alliance University is 120. NMAT cut off is the base score got by candidates for the choice round. The cutoff levels are resolved separately by the NMAT in the participating organizations. In the case you were not able to score 120 you will always have an option of giving an attempt for AMAT (Alliance MAT) conducted by the college itself. The college offers courses in UG, PG, and Ph.D. courses like BBA, B.Tech, M.Tech where admission is based on different exams.

  • For B.tech admission is based on the marks scored inJEE Main,JEE Advanced,KCET,COMEDK UGET, orAUEET.

  • For BBA, admission is done via AUMAT.

  • For M.Tech the admission procedure is through the marks scored inAUEET,GATEorPGCET

Is the executive PGDM course from Alliance University recognized by WES Canada? Is it considered equivalent to a master’s degree?

RB
Rupohi Bhumik Posted On : March 1st, 2021
Alliance University (2019)

Someone I know recently got his PGDM degree evaluated by WES. To answer your question, the one-year PGDM diploma is not considered a master’s. My friend completed his Executive PGDM with Business Analytics as a specialization. Canada’s equivalent report for his degree is as follows. You can find the specification here and proceed accordingly.

  • Credential Authentication: Documents will be sent directly by the institute.
  • Country: India
  • Credential: Postgraduate Diploma (Executive)
  • Major: Management
  • Awarded by: Alliance University
  • Status: Recognized University
  • Canadian Equivanalancy: Postgraduate Diploma (one year)

You can get your postgraduate degree evaluated by WES or IAQS. Hope this was helpful.
