Among IIT Mandi, IIT Ropar, and SVNIT Surat, IIT Mandi is a better choice for Civil Engineering. Here are the reasons why.
Infrastructure:
At IIT Mandi you will get good infrastructure for civil engineering as a large amount of money has been sanctioned to build advanced laboratories, classrooms, and many other relevant things.
Faculty:
The faculty of this college is also very good and has much expertise in their field.
Placements:
The placement records of the Civil Engineering branch have also been very good at this college as many top companies like L&T, ISRO, DRDO have selected students during campus placements.
Competitive Examinations:
Students of this college who appeared for exams like GATE and UPSC have produced remarkable results.
So, do your proper research, prioritize your needs, and then make a decision.
One of my friends studies atSVNIT. To him it is a very good college and studying here is completely worth it.
These days and events are a very important part of college life as it helps in interactions and exposure. Hence, SVNIT Surat is a great college where you will get to explore and learn many things along with your academics and here you will get one of the best experiences of our life.
You should opt for SNVIT chemical. If you are inclined towards it and the placements are very decent with many recruiting companies. You will find a diverse environment here and will develop bonds and learn many new things. Also, the fests are one of the major attractions that give you a great experience of college life with new challenges whether you are in an organizing team or participating team. At the same time, the JEE ranking should be high enough to get admission to opt for chemical.
If you are interested in CS, then you should score 9.4+ in your first year. But if you have not studied CS before especially programming languages then it would be a very hard nut to crack. You can work on your weak topics in 1st year as nothing much is taught. If you are in Nirma then you would miss the college and hostel life, the best memories of college life.
If you like chemical engineering then go for it, never get trapped by the fickle-mindedness of people in society. Since in India, the tag of your college determines your intelligence level and capabilities so if you compare SVNIT Chemical with Nirma CSE, I would suggest SVNIT due to the opportunities it provides.
If you are not looking at the branch, then you should think about going to SVNIT for Mechanical. Having friends study in both the institutes, I might be able to provide some details about them.
However, if you have decided that you would like to go for computers and if you could handle that field, IIIT Vadodara is a pretty good choice.
But many people will also advise you to not compare the two branches as they are quite different. NIT Surat is a better option facility wise but let me tell you that getting a job in the mechanical core is quite difficult. A lot of students will also opt for software fields.

IT from IIEST Shibpur is a better choice than EC from SVNIT Surat. Both my classmates and I agree to the fact that IIEST Shibpur is a much better institute than SVNIT. The reasons for the same are given below –

EC from SVNIT |

If you are really interested in EC then choose SVNIT. But if you are interested in coding and that is the job you want, then definitely IIEST, Shibpur should be your primary choice.
There are a lot of differences between the Dharam Singh College which is situated in Nadiad and the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Institute of Technology.
Therefore, it is suggested that you opt for SVNIT rather than Dharmsinh Desai University. As it will provide you better opportunities both in academics and placements.
Considering the opportunities which may get available for you in the future, I would suggest you go for Chemical Engineering at NIT Surat as it would be a better option over metallurgy. As my sister studied there, I am very well aware of the college and its pros and cons.

Choose wisely after performing a significant amount of research and analysis about the courses that you wish to get enrolled in from either of these institutions.
There are different viewpoints for the same question. It primarily depends upon what is best for you, and whether or not the course you are willing to take interests you.
One of my friends encountered a similar problem likewise, and addressing the same, here are some points you might want to consider before diving into any conclusion,
You should research the same for BITS Goa and find whether or not the rule is similarly applicable in the institute. This is the basic difference you can find between both institutes.
SVNIT is certainly a better choice for Computer Engineering than local Mumbai colleges such as VJTI, DJ Sanghavi, and Somiya. Being an NIT, the institute offers way better exposure and placements. CSE branch bags the placements in the campus drive. During SVNIT placements 2022, the average CTC offered for CSE was INR 15.22 LPA. While the highest CTC stood around INR 44 LPA.
Dharmsinh Desai University is ranked 193rd in India by NIRF’20. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Institute of Technology is ranked 54th for engineering by the NIRF’20. What comes as a bonus is students graduating from SVNIT get a tag of NIT.
Both colleges offer UG and PG courses. The total seats at SVNIT are around 1200, and DDU is around 4300.
Admission Details:
DDU:
For admission in BTech and MTech, students need to sit for the GUJCET, JEE Mains, and GATE exam for MTech.
Students need to qualify for their 12th with at least a 50% aggregate.
SVNIT:
Candidates need to qualify for the JEE Main examination to be eligible for a seat here.
Students need a 75% aggregate in their 12th examination.
For MTech, candidates need to qualify for the GATE examination and need a 6.5 CGPA or 60% in their graduation.
Placement Details:
DDU:
Although the placement rate varies with the branch, the average placement percentage ranges between 85-90%.
The highest salary package can range anywhere from 10 LPA – 18 LPA.
The lowest salary package offered is around 3 LPA.
Companies like Infosys, Crest Data Systems, TCS, Kotak, Apollo, Nirma, Reliance, Deepak Nitrite, SR, and Amazon come for recruitment.
SVNIT:
The total number of students placed in UG and PG are more than 500 and more than 100, respectively.
The highest package offered in UG is 39.5 LPA, and the lowest is 3.6 LPA.
Companies that come for recruitment are L&T, Suzuki Motors, Honda, TATA Motors, John Deere, Pidilite, Siemens, MuSigma, EXL, MasterCard, Airtel, Reliance, ABB, and MG.
Infrastructure and Facilities:
DDU:
The university provides all the basic facilities needed by students.
The library is regularly updated with the newest edition of books, magazines, journals, and online resources.
The university provides accommodation to both girls and boys.
There are also other facilities like a gym, convenience stores, medical facilities, and shuttle services. Additionally, there are also several sports grounds including a swimming pool.
SVNIT:
SNVIT’s library is 35 years old and has a large collection of books, and the college also has a central computer center.
SVNIT also fulfills all the basic requirements of the students. There are a dispensary and two ATMs on campus. There is a post office right outside the college campus.
The college also provides accommodation, a gym, and sports facilities.
Both the colleges have been established in the last 1900s and have a lot of experience when it comes to correctly guiding their students and placement. What comes as a bonus is students graduating from SVNIT get a tag of NIT. There are also numerous clubs in SVNIT, but other than that, both the colleges are almost similar.
